Onyx Boox Nova Air C (and other eInk devices) input lag with third-party drawing apps

  • ANY third-party drawing app out there has an input lag:
    Microsoft Whiteboard
    OneNote
    Obsidian Excalidraw
    eInkBro (Browser) tldraw.com
    ...
The problem is that they are all not optimized for eInk displays and also lack of optimizations from Onyx, who focus only on their stock drawing app.
Also rarely mentioned: The lack of Widevine/DRM support on Onyx Boox devices. They dont even have a L3 ceritification (software DRM implementation) which makes it impossible to watch DRM protected audio or video streams on their devices.
Both issues affect ALL Onyx devices released to this day.

3rd party apps don't run on the Remarkable.

@@raytoons I've seen use it as a sketch book and it seems to perform well in that regard. Thanks for the heads-up on 3rd party apps!

Onyx lags everywhere. They claim that their devices run on android but the truth is that they crawl on it. These are only good for reading and note taking and only on their native apps. It seems that they could fix this easily but they're procrastinating the crucial improvement and launch the same stuff on the market to get as much money as they can from you. If they developed those tablets faster, they'd hit the glass ceiling for the technology and wouldn't cash in on it.
