- Alfred Cortot in 3 recordings of Chopin's Etude Op. 25 No. 11; recordings from 1923, 1934 and 1942. I find it very interesting to hear the similarities as well as the differences between the various interpretations.
Thank you so much for these Cortot uploads. If it were not for UA-cam, so many if these early great pianists would not be easily available to the musical population around the world. It is through YT that I discovered the Great Grigory Sokolov and also Georgy Cziffra and their Titanic pianism and musical virtuosity.
Thank you again for your great efforts in furthering the musical arts to so many.
My young years piano teachers studied with Alfred Cortot AND at the Ecole Normale de Musique, graduating with Diplomas back in those days. From my teachers I learned the "Cortot" style of interpretation and piano playing, very lyrical and always towards presenting the beauty of the musical work. Later when I went to conservatory after graduating from High School, I studied there with another pianist who studied with German Artur Schnabel, and returned to US before WW 2 started with US, after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. SO I inherited two great pianism schools if playing and interpretation in my young years of training. Now I am 81 years old, soon to turn 82 in the summer, and I still LOVE THE PIANO!!

Thank you very much for nice upload. We can notice again that he was a really great pianist. We may find some miss-touches in the "newer" versions, but we should take it into account that he was born in 1877 and that averaging lifespan was of his era was much shorter than nowadays. We can find, in hid performance, flavour of glorious era romantic piano music.
