What if the Dimension table has more columns say Street1,Street2, City,State, Zip, So in this case we need to replicate all these columns again, is it good practice for type 3
Practically, in real world projects we will use SCD Type 2 or Type 4 to cater the scenarios you have mentioned. If we are using SCD Type 2 we can use Timestamp and Flag to refer latest record. Also some organizations follow SCD Type 4 concept where separate history tables are designed for tracking the changes and main dimension table to showcase the latest record only... Hope this helps!!
