i just love Jimmy's energy. He is just so happy to perform magic, and just so happy in life. I don't know anything about him other than his performances on FU, but I feel that the world would be a better place if we all had his attitude.
I'm still baffled by the first time you performed on the show, Jimmy! Hope to see you again soon on the show! You're always a joy to watch! And when it comes to execution and just the magic prowess, I would go as far as saying that you 'rise' to the occasion each and every time! :)
I can't even begin to imagine how this trick is done in all these three ways... I mean, making one random card rise from a deck that you hold seems impossible to me, but having a card that no one ever touched rise from the deck while said deck sits on a ladder? That's just bonkers... and then you have another deck, literally dozens of meters away and the correct card rises from that as well... Marvelous! I guess other magicians, especially those fond of this trick, will have means to guess how it's done, but for the regular audience it's indeed magic. Last but not least: You have a great stage presence, I loved every single second of your performance.
That was a wonderful trick jimmy, your last two appearances on fool us were also really good, and everytime you bring something new with the card tricks, i loved all the three appearances.
Wow, this was a seriously magical performance from my perspective. Especially the fact that you didn't even say Tellers card and it just jumps out of the box. That was awesome :)
This was the first magic trick I did for my family. They were gobsmacked. Rising card is truly the most magical and unique trick for newbies. I am so sorry that the other variants didn't fool them but you had guts to play this on Penn & Teller and it was wonderful to see. Thank you for trying to fool them with the most simple of tricks in magic, you are king.
Wow, this performance of the Highest Rising Card trick is absolutely mesmerizing! Your energy and enthusiasm throughout the entire routine were truly contagious, and the way you engage the audience is a testament to your incredible talent. Might not have fooled them, but you had me baffled
The rising card has always been my favourite effect in magic and I'm so happy to see your creation on this effect are just incredible, please don't stop creating more amazing effect on card magic!
Hey Jimmy, it’s Dane. My wonder and love of your magic tricks that started on the volleyball bus in high school continues to today. Always an amazing performance, you got ‘em next time!
Ha ha very true...I had didn't remember it like that so funny to watch it play out on video. If I get another chance, I'll try harder to stick around and listen.
Really really really well done! What a great way of performing this classic trick! You fooled me 2 out of 3 times there Jimmy...be sure to come back with a new routine..love to see you again. Cheers from the Netherlands.
You took a trick P&T love and showed them first, then gave it Copperfield sized proportions on a ladder, and finally, put it on a David Blaine balloon -- after showing respect to them all at the start of the act, in that order. Genius.
Your warmth is infectious and your humility inspires🤍💙 Loved this presentation style and the whole routine. Much affectionate wishes and prayers for all your family and you Jimmy🙇🏻♂️ san. . Wish I ever travelled to NorthAm or you travelled to India, as it would be a big deal and bring us lots of joy to see you perform in-person.
The three of clubs on the bottom was a fun easter egg! A regular deck on the ladder would have fallen over. So there was a hidden mechanism, or at least magnets. I loved the routine!
I've watched all three appearances of Jimmy. This guy has the best tricks I've seen in this show, and yet still fails to fool them. I am pissed for him. And Penn's face and look at 3:31 shows how he is astonished and asking Teller for help here :)
It is so mind blowing that it hurts trying to think about it. I wish i could say, it was beautifully done, but i havr no idea what you did. As Penn said, you did one thing 3X.
This was really clean, almost no opportunity for funny business, but I have a few guesses... For one, at 2:15 you can spot the mechanism that's doing the lifting on the side of the deck, though he quickly covered it. It seems that it probably doesn't extend up more than half the height of a card, so you can still freely shuffle as long as it's at the 'bottom'. I imagine he can easily cut the deck at the location of that mechanism, so when Penn puts his card back, it's in the position where it can be lifted The second was at least partially a free choice - not many choices, but not just one, anyway. But if we assume the first mechanism is a thing that can be triggered wirelessly, he could certainly stack 10 different ones in a box and trigger one of them remotely depending on what he writes, and had lots of opportunity to swap the first deck on the way to the ladder. This would explain why Teller had to pick from such a small set of cards. Choosing which one to trigger might be done by someone offstage, because it'd be a bit hard to discretely choose a trigger The third, it wouldn't be hard to record 52 different endings and select one. If there was no camera cut, it'd be much more believable
It’s tough for the magicians on fool us that do something so “impossible” that in the end there is only one way it could have been done. Like Tellers choice here. In some other tricks there are 100 unlikely/implausible ways a trick could be done and P&T have to choose one. But here it’s so clean that there is really only one way (no matter that it was really difficult/implausible and they might struggle to recreate it - they knew it had to be that as there were no other possible options). Maybe if the magician had given Teller a card in a way that might have suggested a force maybe he’d have walked away with a trophy. But that’s kind of playing the fool us game rather than focusing on the quality of the trick - as it would make it less impressive to the audience. Anyway great job going for the impossible!
Because the final one could be done trivially with 52 different pre-recorded video clips (the camera cut _after_ the card is named is pretty indicative).
For the first one, i'd guess it's the traditional method for that trick. For the third, I think that's some CG magic. The second one stumps me, but there must be some tech hidden in the ladder, though I am not sure how it would work.
You may not have fooled them, Jimmy, but you did a rising card trick in two ways I had never seen before and they were incredible.
Thank you so much!

Why am i more impressed with the first 2 than the final one?
