I remember this song, Obstinate had a coffin nailed on a post in St. John's leading up to the competition. When it comes to showmanship he is the best and he has a powerful voice. Obsti is the performer.
I had the pleasure of frequently Co-Hosting The King Obstinate Calypso Show on Radio One, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. in 1977 as The African Poet with the inimitable Paul Richards or "Obsti" as he was also known. We became true friends and even collaborated to put some of my Storytelling Performance Poetry Art to Calypso Music. It was a great time between two lifetime friends. I remain a loyal fan to the King of Calypso and hope he drops me a line. The Poet Claudio / also known as The African Poet. I was a former Chef of Bluebeard's Castle and performed there with the wonderful Nat Blake who introduced Obsti and me. Ah... my memories of the Caribbean. Cheers! Claudio. www.ClaudioArts.com

Correction Bro,, this Album was released 1982 NOT 1983...
hmm ...That is true. Don´t know where I got 83 from. Thanks anyway for the correction.
@@ScorpioPetey I have the orinal Cassette from my Collection, which i brought to Enland with me in 1990 from St.Kitts.
ok, cool
☑️1983... Who can forget the battle between him and Swallow’s Party in Space? I am a walking calypso history book...it was released in 1983.
In 1982 he sang Elephant Walk…can’t forget the competition performances.
