I just purchased a Ford extended warranty from Granger Ford. Great price for the Premium Care. I have a gut feeling I’ll need it down the road. I still love the truck and it’s been trouble free minus the three recalls for hybrid.
NOTE: In this CSP letter it states "Although your vehicle’s engine is likely functioning fine, we are pleased to let you know that, for your peace of mind, Ford Motor Company is providing a one-time replacement (if needed) free of charge (parts and labor) of the engine long block assembly for 10 years or 100,000 miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle, whichever occurs first. If your vehicle has already exceeded either time or mileage limits listed above, this one-time repair offer will last through July 31, 2025."
Ah it wouldn't be a Ford without a recall for fire risk. I didn't buy a maverick to replace my 2017 focus because we were already cramped in the focus which is nearly the same size.
@@jmc6000 I've had the problem ever since I took delivery on the truck. Dealer reprogram the BCM and replaced the 12 volt battery but the problem persists. I can see that after 4 or 5 days the parasitic draw on the battery takes it down to the point where it triggers. For the time being I'm just leaving a trickle charger on the battery to the body ground. Dealer wants to take the car for a week to study. Maybe in the 2024 or 2025 models it won't be a problem. I know it's pretty widespread as I hear it written about on all the forums.
Curious question (you probably already went over this in a previous video), why the hybrid over the AWD? Being in Idaho, I'd imagine most will want an AWD? I'm currently debating between the Maverick and the Honda Ridgeline, with main concerns being reliability for the Maverick. Sounds like reliability wasn't much of an issue for you.
Because of the power of the revised HF45 eCVT Ford decided not to use an AWD transfer case on the Maverick. But the Hybrid only being FWD with a good set of tires has not really been an issue even in North Idaho winters
I was not happy with this fix. This recall, PCM reprogramming uses the knock sensor to Identify when the engine is failing and then shut it down safely. From there Ford will warranty a new engine... but you will be out the time and effort to get it done. And now your truck is all pulled apart with a new engine installed... Not interested in that!
Typical ford, bandaid fix, they have really gone down hill, they are doing a great job of keeping mechanics busy, eco boost motors are a mechanics best Freind,

Just had this recall done today for the fire recall. Got home tonight and the engine check light came on. Here we go again.
Let me know what they find with the light being on.

Seems as if all the recalls from Ford are "fixed" with various software updates. I like my Maverick, but the recalls are getting a bit much.

None that I have seen yet but that issue is usually related to a weak 12 volt battery

Not all Ecoboost motors are junk but yes there are some duds that they have made and every manufacturer has its duds
