All sarcasm aside, here's something people should know. When you grow up in Japan (excluding international schools in Tokyo or military bases), you are surrounded only by Japanese. There's a lot of emphasis in compliance and it carries to the children as well. Result is kids who behave or look different are picked on. I would not be surprised if she feels resentment/regret when people think that because she looks mixed (her father being American), and she can't speak English.
