I think this is my favorite video because of the flea market jewelry those cuffs are my kind bracelets then those huge necklaces the wedding beads etc. oh how I hope to get there in next couple years ,I’ve watched this 3 times, yes the blue white Chinese necklace ❤️

New York use to have great flea markets...alas, they are far and in between and more like upscale consignment stores these days $$$$ ....this market is one of the last of the old dinosaurs flea market where you might be able to find good prices...I plan to go again this Sunday and hope that they are more goodies to find!!!

Love all of your videos. Have you ever seen the show, Gem Hunters? A group of English and American people travel around counties in search of gems to buy. Very exciting show, but sometimes lacks cultural respect and understanding of the value of resources to the the counties that they come from. A lot of lessons there, in a lot of areas. But, we enjoy jewelry without the levity of the history lessons of how it came to the United States, as well as how the lives of the people were affected that lost it. I think about what was exchanged for the Italian glass beads. All good lessons in understanding and human nature. Praying for Israel and Palestine, mothers, fathers and families on both sides.
This was very thought provoking for me as Im always thinking about jewelry in context to their history. In many things, there is hidden message and meaning to some of this beautiful pieces. I think about what jewelry means to the culture and people of where it comes from and as I get deeper into the background I grow more and more fascinated by the history. For example, the video I did with the Watermelon necklace took me down a deep road of intrigue. It was so scary to put the video up and tell the story knowing it would be controversial. I actually lost subscribers because of it....and gained respect from people who understood what I was trying to do which is to tell the story of the piece. I can go on and on about this...perhaps its a good topic for another video...what are your thoughts?
