Hey Mike, I would like to see your report or related material for guidance. I'm currently making a similar project, and I'm struggling with the audio effects. Thanks

Hey Mike, that's some great work. I'm an EE major too, and I just recently bought my first FPGA dev kit, although mine is from Xilinx (Spartan-6). I have also been taking a look at the report your submitted for this, and it has been a very interesting read.

Why do these demos keep showing twiddlers, constantly turning the effects so that you cannot hear what they are like in a given setting?

You could use a comparator. You can set the analog voltage "trip point" where the bit will toggle..It will give you a one or a zero.. You can even make your own successive-approximation ADC using a DAC and a sample-and-hold circuit.. ADC's are cheap and easy to program. Just get one that uses the SPI port.

Hi Mike, I'm interested in your project but unfortunately your site is under maintenance. How can I know more about it? Thanks in advance

Thanks! i've heard of it but not used any of the Xilink stuff. Is it just the equivalent to NIOS II from Altera? I only used Altera because it was readily available to be honest. I'll be uploading my project report soon if your interested. What kind of stuff are you looking to do?

Hi, how many logic elements did you use in VHDL?, do you think it is posible to do it with an CPLD?

Just a question since I don't know much about FPGAs, since they are re-programmable logic gates, is it possible for FPGAs to process analogue signals without having a ADC?

No, unless they have a built in ADC which most FPGAs do not have.

Hi, i am quite busy but may be able to help. Have you been on my website? jugglingpirate[dot]net
I added a discussion feature for questions like this so we can keep it all open (rather than email) so others can learn as well. You can of course still contact me directly using the contact form on my site
