actually the black representation in hunger games is pretty solid in my opinion. between rue and thresh as tributes and cinna is a key part of the revolution (although i don’t think he is written as black but in the movies he is). Thresh actually comes fourth in the hunger games and rue makes it much farther than most. In the sequel there’s also beetee who is an inventor who helps to take down the entire arena and in the newest movie jessup, who is a tribute, is a main part of the story as the male tribute from the protagonist, lucy gray’s, district. Reaper, another tribute, commits one of the first rebellious acts by covering the bodies of dead tributes with the flag of panem. He makes it very far in the games and is an important symbol of unrest. There’s also Dr. Gual (played by the one and only viola davis!) who’s a villain but the role is so crazy and scary, she’s a great character imo.

Yes to all of this!! The district Rue and Thresh came from is also the first to really start the rebellion, and Rue is a key piece to the revolution in that Katniss caring for her made her the Mockingjay symbol.
