    I decided to switch to a new bass drum trigger. It came down to a decision
    between On Trigger and Foot Blaster. In this video you`ll see how I decided

    I'm totally convinced. I bought a set of these a few months ago based on this review alone and I can say after testing them all this time, that they are absolutely amazing. VERY well made, simple to install (though it does take a few minutes) and adjust and they track perfectly. I removed the old triggers just two hours after setting these up. There was no doubt in my mind about how good these were going to be moving forward.

    I also use the laserpick and we have to tell the lightguy of the venue to not put bright lights on the drums. Last gig the strobe light made the laserpic dropout everytime the strobe was activated.. It is such a shame becase the laserpic system with integrated module and just 1 xlr out is brilliant.

    Hello Wanja! I really enjoyed all your videos and your playing as well! Really your channel is very informative and i always check your videos. I just ordered the on triggers with a Tm-2 module after watching your videos. I would like to ask you a question. Do you have any problems on slow single and double bass patters if your rest the beaters on the drum like i do? Are they so sensitive like acoustic triggers which double trigger from the skin vibrations?

    • @wanjanechtangroeger
      @wanjanechtangroeger  4 роки тому

      I don't rest my beaters against the kickdrum for exactly this reason :D
      But I think you can setup the tm-2 in a way that you can get away with it. You can also try experimenting with the point at which the triggers are hit by the pedal.

  • @drummerkrisp

    What type of headphones or in ears do you use to hear the triggers? Are you listening to the whole kit through the interface or just the feet?

    Wanja, thank you for this video! 👍
    Could you answer for two questions I try to word, please? ;)
    How do you use your triggers during live shows: the signal from the only triggers or mix signals between sound from triggers and acoustic sound of the kick from the microphone?
    And about the backlash on the shaft of your Demon Drive: has it begun to appear or is it still backlash-free?
    (Thank you, google translator!)

    • @wanjanechtangroeger
      @wanjanechtangroeger  4 роки тому +1

      Bass drum sound depends on what band I play with and also on time for soundcheck etc. For super brutal stuff, trigger only, for everything else I like a mixed sound but only if there is enough time for soundcheck and if the sound guy is good.
      Drive shaft still free of any lag.

    I bought them played few shows and I must say after many tweaking them with footboard and with settings on my roland tm 2 they still double trigger what is not the problem with footblaters according to drummers using them, so I think unfortenatly I will change them

  • @schpiele
    @schpiele Рік тому

    I often play gigs where there are 3 bands playing and drummers share the same drums. This trigger is mounted on the pedal which is great, but there must be some minor adjustment when you change to a different kick drum, where maybe the angle is different or something like that. How easy is to adapt, do you need a lot of time for adjustment? Because between bands there is maybe 15 to 20 min time for setup..

    • @wanjanechtangroeger
      @wanjanechtangroeger  Рік тому +1

      When the beater is pressed against the drumhead, the pedal should slightly press down the trigger. If this is not the case I adjust the trigger by bending the arm it is mounted on up or down. Usually takes only a couple of seconds to check and readjust. Module settings stay the same.

  • @ChuckNoize89

    Hi Wanja, habe die Trigger auch getestet. Habe aber gelegentlich Double Hits. Was stellst du beim TM-2 ein (vorallem welchen Pad-type etc.)?
    Ich sehe du hast die Aufschlagsfläche des Triggers nur etwa zur Hälfte mit dem Pedal bedeckt. Ist dies das Optimum? Bei mir werden die weissen Triggerflächen komplett von der Aussenseite des Demon Drives angeschlagen (wobei das Pedal eine leichte Kante hat). Eventuell löst das verschieben des Trigger mein Problem? Wie stark wird der Schaumstoff bei dir Reingedrückt bei einem Hit? Stellst du die Triggerhöhe auf ganz knappe Berührung ein oder wird das Teil ordentlich reingedrückt? Gruss

    • @wanjanechtangroeger
      @wanjanechtangroeger  4 роки тому

      Die settings findest du irgendwo in diesem Video hier: ua-cam.com/video/Kdjt90Y7fEQ/v-deo.html Geändert habe ich nur, dass der Threshold deutlich niedriger ist, dafür ist retrigger cancel etwas höher. Der Trigger wird ca dann berührt, wenn der Beater auch das Fell trifft, es wird also nichts groß eingedrückt oder so. Dass der Trigger nur halb vom Pedal getroffen wird, liegt nur daran, wie ich ihn am Pedal angeschraubt habe, ist also keine Absicht und ich glaube auch nicht, dass das einen Unterschied machen würde,

    I own these triggers and my problem is that I bury the beaters when not playing the second bass pedal. And when I hit with the main pedal, I get double triggering. Do you guys encounter the same issue? I see Wanjia doesn’t bury the beaters.

    • @eDrumsInANutshell
      @eDrumsInANutshell 3 місяці тому

      Hmmm, maybe because the buried beater bounces during the hits of your main pedal / beater.
      I would rise the trigger settings thres at least for the slave pedal.
      I chose the cheap version of these triggers. I grabbed two piezo guitar pickups for $9 (piezo on a mono socket), two metal brackets and a bit of foam packaging material + double sided and foam tape. Basically because I wanted to trigger the two bass drum notes from my sexy, sweet SD3 sound libs! Until now I used the ATV 13" kick pad, which is still there to kick into.
      These system works surprisingly well. Really, its way more sensitive than the ATV pad, and so I got more re- and double triggers because of the bury beaters thing :-).
      I put a picture in my Community section.
