A Bothy seems to be similar to the volunteer cabins scattered throughout the mountains here! They are supplied and maintained by campers that need them for a night or two. Ours have stoves and beds and tables, and food supplies left by previous campers or bickers. Some are very nice!
Your videos of where you are touring top any other channels that have done NC 500. Bravo!! You have convinced me that Scotland (my heritage) is now on my bucket list.
There are many huts like this on the Appalachian Trail in the Eastern States, and a few (ski) huts on the Pacific Crest Trail through Cal/Oregon/Washington on the West Coast. Am so hoping to do some rambling in Scotland - bucket list!
On the wall inside the fisherman’s bothy were pics of local people, one of them....Duncan Matheson, Balchladich, was my husbands grandfather. Small world. ❤️
Your camera is working pretty good at all the beautifully stunning scenery you are taking pics of in Scotland. The Clachtol Beach is beautiful! I about peed my britches when Mazzy screamed and then I laughed so hard I about passed out. Mazzy, hon, Be careful going into strange places!
Clachtoll Broch it's one of northern Scotland’s most iconic archaeological monuments. Surviving in places to first floor level- over 3m above the bedrock- the remains of this spectacular drystone tower are thought to be around 2000 years old.
Up to the early part of the 20th century fishermen used homemade buoys exclusively and almost all of these used in the Islands were made from sheepskins, but in other places dog skins. Home-made buoys continued to be made, even up to the late 1930’s. OMG I hope that wasn’t a little dog buoy 🤢 the fisherman’s museum in Lossiemouth has one on show😢 poor little doggies. Scarfs are a must to keep out the bitter winds 🧣 x
NOT first, and truly don't care. Just happy to be here watching another great Dan and Mazzy video! Beautiful beach!!! Lovely song, who sings it? Didn't find it in the description above....take care guys!
I'm fascinated with sharks and did not know basking sharks are in that area.. That's so cool especially if you two could see one. Dan, once again you surprise me how much you know about nature etc..
Another excellent vlog from an excellent spot. May be in the next one I guess, but did you spot the fossil of the whale rib near the info hit in the car park? Gives an idea of the size of them!
I liked it too, so I used my phone to identify the song. Elena Piras, Puirt-a-beil Faca sign Màiri nign’n Alasdair, Sutors of Selkirk, Bodachan A’ Mhìrein.
The Rock is like that because part of Scotland millions of years ago crashed into the rest of the UK, creating the Great Glen fault (very simple explanation). The tilting of the rocks is due to the folding of the rocks like plastic or blu-tack up and over each other. Originally they will have likely been laid down near-enough flat, and then the forces of two continental plates hitting each other will have bent the rock in such a way, causing them to dip and fold like that! (Again, very basic explanation.)
Hope you guys have some gas onboard as it is cold as a snowman’s nipples outside, poor Mazzy pooped her draws when she saw that dummy ,saying that I would have too 🤣
Its a traditional scottish song in a style they call Puirt-a-beil or mouth music. Elena Piras, Puirt-a-beil Faca sign Màiri nign’n Alasdair, Sutors of Selkirk, Bodachan A’ Mhìrein.
Whoa, when you pushed that button on the ceiling, I swear there was something looking at you in the attic. Stop the footage when you're pushing the button and you can see a pale white face looking at you through the space in between the boards. Freaked me out
Great video guys, another beautiful place. Those bothy's are really cool, unfortunately if they tried them here in the U.S. someone would just come in and steal everything or vandalize it. It's nice that people are more respectful there.
@@TravelTrollsTV , very true, but far more ATV's used here in the U.S., they'd be on them quick here where ever they are. I've really been enjoying the trip. Thanks guys.

That song during the scenery shots was the best! Great video.
In Northern Canada there are many lodges along trail plans that are available for people to use. They can be a godsend in our severe winters.
The song is pure beautiful. I love it

Great to hear an Englishman who can pronounce the ch in eg loch!
Do you get more muscle than one arm than the other by holding the camera all the time does that make you stronger?
No, my regular daily workout make me stronger.
If a baskin shark could eat 2000 tons of water in one bite then it would be able to eat the pentagon, I think you meant to say litres.
It filters that much water
I think l meant to say what l said. Only you mentioned one bite.
Ok dan I’ll let you off because you’re a professional, and thanks for the videos.
TriGreen Dan it would probably be a good color for your hair..............😜
