Hey, Vee. I think we all appreciate these reviews and would thank you for producing them occasionally, especially given the fact that the game is not the most played in the world! Many thanks!
Its a decent plane and has some good speed available, but it really can suffer when its bottom tier. I also feel that there are planes such as the l-220 and the ki 84 (just to name a few) that can really mess up a meteor. That said if ur a good pilot im sure u can make it work.
This might be the only premium plane I have that I just don't like. Rather than having the one or two deficient areas normal for a premium, everything is subpar. My hunch is that this is somehow related to them shoehorning it into light fighter status when it should have been a heavy fighter, given the lack of a premium one for the UK tree and its historical usage both.
making it a heavy would require shoe-horning in some kind of ordinance with a reload so long you could only use it 2 times in a game. 3-4 times if the battle goes on long enough Maybe. Honestly most would think its not worth the speed loss. and to counter the speed loss you would have to take a big hit in manuverablity which hurts your air to air performance while waiting for that loooong reload. Going the MultiRole route is not any better. Half the ordnance payload and double the reload speed. And now you have a PREMIUM Jet powered Tier 7 Multirole released at a point in time when the British Multirole tech tree line stopped at tier 6. Also the number of premium tier 8 aircraft available was much smaller and therefore tier 8 wasnt nearly so rough on tier 7's at the time of release. Which screams Pay to win/Pay to not bother with grinding. Far easier to balance by making it another premium light fighter for your Spitfire pilots. With all that said ... your issues remind me of stuff i have heard said about flying the XF-15C. it is not great at any one thing but it isnt bad either. so in theory any focused build (with matching pilot skills) can (and does) work with it. This is certainly true with the XF-15C. And it can also be the case with a Meteor. (even with one less equipment slot) Slap on your favorite build. You know; which one. That one build that you; the player, know all the tricks needed to get the most out of. Yeah that build. Min/Max it to your heart's content. Stack those crazy bonuses, and tweak your pilot skills. Whatever way you want to fly it, the Meteor can do it. (although it doesnt seem to be the case apparent until you unlock that final equipment slot and get full benefit from ultimate gear)
