For dynamic pacing you can use user defined variables and keep starting and ending value like val1 1000 val2 5000 So it's will take between 1 to 5 seconds every time 2) token you can correlate if it's dynamic if not you can use some uuid generator using JMeter function..

For example, on black friday, people add items to their cart and wait for the items to go on sale at midnight. When midnight comes, everyone clicks "Place Order" button at the same time. Hence, application sever's CPU utilization jumps as high as 90% for a brief moment (this can lead to several crashes) because everyone clicks "Place Order" button.
Yes, here it's not exactly replica like spike but, it's about when you are applying varying load how the system behaving. Spike is when suddenly tps increases whether server can handle or not..

No you can't add formulae directly in your thread group.
