For everyone hating on the animation, yes its bad BUT - we saw in the scene where rin and sae play the 1v1 from the first episodes that they are still capable of good animations plus the animation from 2 to 3 episode increased. We went from a coloured manga panel of the goals from rin and shidou to a more fluent style animation with isagis goal. They animated the shot plus the ball actual flying in to the net so my hopes are still there that they will increase the quality of the animations from episode to episode till we get banger animations in the u20 game 🙌
Think they’re missing the point that the goalie’s look “useless” because these guys are all literally trying to be the best striker in the world, and they’re all at the point where a virtual goalie can’t be expected to keep up with them anymore, that’s how high of a level the competition is now.

@@killastar5424 they made an artistic decission to improve the art and the cgi instead of the animation to make the show look good. Normal people dont focus on the animation as much as others think. I think its just that a lot of people value different things in the anime they watch. Which is good, but to hate this show beacuse “its not up to your standars” is childish.
its not the style that coudnt be replicated but the paint mixing process that gave 90s anime its destinctive look that was lost when the guy died, not only that but the cost of doing hand drawn is way higher than digital as well as being way more time consuming. while its not impossible to still do hand drawn animation its not feasible in todays anime market where theres no pay and no time for artist and studios who make anime
I enjoyed this episode for two reascons; 1, it was very well directed and managed to be hype despite the lacking animation. 2, it confirmed for me they're saving up for U-20 match which is imho going to be VERY worth it. The hype and acclaim Blue Lock got in its initial year of season 1 was way too much for them to be doing season 2 like this for no reason. So I'm expecting amazing things because in all honesty (and feel free to ignore me if you feel this is overhyping) U-20 could have been a Blue Lock movie on the level of Mugen Train or possibly even Jjk 0.
