There's something really special about this. It's just a series of pikmin fanart images set to music but everything about this video has this weird ethereal feeling that makes it feel like a tiny glimpse into a way bigger world. There are consistent themes and design choices that make me picture a more somber, mysterious and alien pikmin world than the one nintendo chose to create. I dunno, it's really hard to describe why this video feels so meaningful, which is how you know you made something awesome lol
the entire pikmin series is my beloved, they have a special place in my heart-- but there's definitely something very unique about Pikmin 1 that has inspired a lot of my work-- I feel like it balances the themes of hope and love, and horror and death so delicately, making it a uniquely somber experience That feeling of lovely denizens of a somewhat frightful or terrifying world, who carry on, fight and survive with optimistic spirit is something I hope to learn how to execute very well one day, so I study as much as I can as I write my worlds I appreciate your comment very much :) thank you for listening!
Might just have to call this my single favorite piece of fanmade Pikmin music! Not only does it reference Wistful Wild, but it also adds some additional layers to the theme that are distinctly new to this fan concept, such as individual overlays for the new Pikmin types! It really reminds me of how the main-line games always did a little something to change up the music, such as Pikmin 4's layers for each individual enemy.
LMFAO I didn't even realize they're literally pikpik carrots I based them on the roots of thistles, but it'd be funny to have olimar be like "ok forget what I said about the red ones these are literally just carrots"
I wish I had the words. This video captures a feeling that I can't describe. Dynamic music is one of my most favorite things. I adore the idea you had for after a big fight, the bass continues to simulate the pounding in your chest. That idea can be pushed and played with a lot. The active Thorn Pikmin might be my favorite "dynamic piece", when it comes to the Pikimins individual "motifs", or however you'd word it. All of their themes coming together is also beautiful. 4:55 is a favorite part of mine, up until it transitions to the next area. It's great. And then comes sunset... Moving backwards through everything is visually wonderful. 9:07 is my absolute favorite part. It gets me every time. I wish it was longer. It gives me a shiver up my spine, and it wants to take me far away... The visual effects in this video are very well done. Keep making the things you make. This is astonishing.

Really beautiful work! love how it balances the feeling of being stranded out on a largely unexplored and dangerous planet where death can come at a moments notice, the staggering beauty and mystery of the very same world, and the optimism, hope and will to keep going for the sake of others that invigorates Olimar and all of the other protagonists in their perilous journeys. Also, I ADORE each Pikmin type having their own segments, it’s just fantastic and helps give them more personality. The stunning visuals just tie this whole thing together and make it really seem like a segment into a greater world, IT’S JUST SO GOOD AND OOZING WITH PASSION THIS DESERVES SO MANY MORE VIEWS AND LIKES

Oboe is such a lovely instrument! It, the saxophone and the violin are three instruments I'd love to learn how to use one day :) All orchestral sounds here are sequenced in Sampletank 4, but nothing beats a live performance haha

Autumnal areas in Pikmin always tend to be my favorites, so by default I love this concept, but the you throw in Wistful Wild leitmotifs, and I'm hooked. Great stuff; reminds me of the first Pikmin in terms of its somber atmosphere. Edit: Also thank goodness, I'm not the only one who saw that waving Candy Pikmin artwork and immediately thought "Chao" ^_^;
Criminally underrated for the amount of quality and work on display here. I really like the Thorn Pikmin layer! Is this just a personal project, or is there more to Pikmin Echo? Eitherway, this is a wonderful listen.

I have made a few more songs(not for the other areas yet, but for other special things in the story like Twilight, or encountering a Night Wraith)! But animation/making visuals takes a lot of time and effort, so most likely it will either be a long time till I can post them, or the videos will be more simplified than this one -- this video probably took the most effort out any of the other videos on my channel(except for like, the battle for darkness vs light or the Chiptune Collab Album videos) Stay tuned! This is so beautiful!! I live the depth in each layer! Thw working theme is my favorite, and typically is with most Pikmin songs. This song is much softwr than the other Pikmin songs (at least for tge ones I listen to) but it fits the Pikmin vibe PERFECTLY! And the callback to the Wistful Wild theme is sooo good!! I would love for this project to be fully realized as its own game. The quality of this music shows the passion put into this project, and I love it.
If this doesn't become a game or at least a mod, you and Wooden Turtle should seriously consider making this a series. I feel like this would thrive cinematically more than it would in the form of a game.
i love these songs, these fan games, and the pikmin. just gonna plop my pikmin idea here and go back to vibing Burrowing pikmin - appearance resembles a sheargrub, but brown and a pikmin leaf; orange flower When plucked, it digs into the ground and stays burrowed, following you underground with dirt fx above it. Takes longer to throw (you have to pull it out of the ground) and can't latch onto enemies. When rushed, they rush underground and pop out under their target, stunning them. doesn't work on flying enemies, obviously. Carrying power of 1, but carries slower. Might seem OP but the downside is that any creature that burrows out of the ground will burrow back in and eat the burrowing pikmin very quickly: burrowing pikmin cannot defend themselves.
@CananaMan I agree with you there, it drummed up a lot of activity and interest In the pikmin modding community. There's a lot of great projects both released and in the works.
There is something I really love about this video, it feels very nostalgic listening to the music. I love the bits of wistful wild i can hear out. The drawings also feel like something I would have thought about pre Pikmin 3, imagining a new area with a large open world to explore. All these set pieces you could interact with and expand your reach with, coming back to the area with new Pikmin types. There really hasn't been a video that has gotten me into nostalgia like this ever. It takes me back to when I played Pikmin for the first time back when I was 4 (Pikmin 2 for the Wii specifically). I loved thinking of going outside of the explorable areas and seeing the world around that area. The drawing on the thorn Pikmin active part really gave that feeling. I really hope this would be turned into a game.
There’s something sooooo ………… just _gentle_ and _soothing_ in this, like a _calm_ journeys end with greeting new and old companions for the final adventure, there’s something truly _magical_ about this
Theory:these pikmin are native to forests that have humid conditions, they work just like normal pikmin but when out of their environment they act like pikmin ai form the first game due to the environment being a little dry. They however cannot go to deserts as they are like amphibians. When normal pikmin enter their environment they become pikmin 1 ai. Sub-species of blue and pre-evolved yellow pikmin.
They are evolved from/are related to the main trio, ye! Candies came from an adaptation created by a fusion of Red and Blue onions, (Reds dominant) Lilies came from a Blue and Yellow onion's combination long ago, (Blues dominant) and the Thorn's onion is an evolution of what came from a Yellow and Red onion's fusion. (Yellows dominant) With the Lily Pikmin specifically, you're right on the money! They are unique in that they don't flower using nectar-- they flower by swimming in water instead. When they are on dry land, they devolve back into "bud" form, then back to "leaf" form if they're out of the water for too long. They're at their strongest in the water, swimming faster than any of the other types, and gaining a massive 30x carry strength when submerged! but they're much weaker than blues on dry land--their attack strength is hampered by the fact that they don't have long stems like their brothers.

A few decades of experience! Music is really fun :) I used FL Studio and Sampletank 4! The first one is an audio workstation that lets you make music on your computer, the second one is a kit full of instruments like piano, violin, choirs, etc Those two cost about $200 each, but that's all the paid software I use. The rest is mostly free instruments like Surge XT, or built in ones like FPC! If you want to make music for free though, the FL studio demo is free :) thanks for asking!
In this rearrangement of the first pikmin game, It's an extension of the Final Trial-- When you defeat the Emporer Bulblax, its death crushes the nearby wall, allowing you to access the rest of the area Since the Final Trial and the Wistful Wild are linked in shape somewhat, it does take inspiration from both areas :)
I also have a boss idea for the area *Man-Of-The-Woods* Basically a forest version of the Man-At-Legs where it uses sticks, plants, rocks and mud as armor and shoots pebbles out of a wooden cannon, in a similar way like the Gatling Groink

These Pikmin come mixed in with the regular Pikmin-- The order of discovery is: Reds in the Tearful Grotto Yellows, then Thorns in the Thicket of Light Lilies in the Forgotten Pond Blues in the Belly of the Planet Candies in the Tearful Grotto (need water pikmin to access)
if i didn't have a full time job and a bajillion other responsibilities, I would love to program it as a 2.5d isometric game for practice, that's how I imagine it in my head lol as for now in my head it shall stay 🤭
@@CananaMani actually had a few enemy concepts them being 1. Bulboar - A bulborb that has adapted thorn like spikes around the back of its body and has increased eyesight. Just like the Bulbear, the Bulboar is active during the day when hunting, but it’s a nocturnal sleeper. Its enhanced eyes make it a more persistent and intelligent hunter able to chase down and spot prey for longer distances, also if it can’t get to any pikmin behind a wall, it’ll try to find a way around and get the element of surprise 2. Confectionery Dweevil - A candy colored Dweevil that smells sweet, but this little bugger loves to cause problems. When threatened, it will fire off a sticky gum like substance that temporarily gets pikmin in a sticky situation. Before it scurries away. 3. Spelunking Sheargrub - this breed of Sheargrub, are mostly blind and rely on sound, large numbers, teamwork, and movement to overwhelm their prey. They dig underground and attempt to jump out at their prey to snatch them up before tunneling back underground, they appear large groups of 15-16 but swarming them is their one weakness, causing them to be unable to escape while the pikmin clobber them into defeat
There's a pinned comment that takes you to my Tumblr, with lots of lore for the individual little guys and some enemies too! in summary though, Thorn guys can take down thorned objects and climb walls, Lilies can float, unlike Blues, who sink, allowing them to cross Chasms, and Candy Pikmin have a lot of Nectar related powers-- including being able to take down sugar glass walls, and rebuild them into bridges!
It came out about 9 days ago! (It's not a real game or mod, there's no plans to make a project at the moment, just a fun little fanlore I'm messing with)
When I was really little, I didn't know Pikmin 2 existed already, so this was originally supposed to be a fan Pikmin 2! so, the story was built off of what happened on Pikmin 1. I've updated a few things about it (like changing the Candy Pikmin to be pink instead of purple, so they don't get confused with purples) but it's mostly still just my childhood fan story lol
This area is called "The Wild Edge". It's an extension of The Final Trial, and there are 4 other areas before it as well: The Tearful Grotto (extension of the Impact Site) The Thicket of Light (extension of the Forest of Hope), The Forgotten Pond (extension of the Distant Spring), and The Belly of the Planet (extension of the Forest Navel). K just read your tumblr post very interesting but I have a few question 1 what would happen if you decide to stay on the planet when Pikmin get left behind would they join you 2 in one of your post you said that thorn Pikmin could build wooden structures does that mean all Pikmin can build wooden structures are the structures for defense 3 what’s up with the markings olimar got?
If you stay on the planet, the pikmin in your party will go to their Onions, but the pikmin left behind will be eaten by the monsters of twilight You don't have any Pikmin with you but the Star Pikmin at twilight. Thorn Pikmin are faster at building the things like the climbing poles, bridges and other wooden structures like that. They can also build climbable walls, and build thorned fence gates that you can open and close in order to temporarily wall areas off from enemies He got those markings when he landed on the planet. He doesn't know where they came from, but they're hidden all over the planet, especially the Wild Edge...
To answer 1: aww that’s unfortunate Answer 2: okay I though you could use resources to build up walls around the dolphin to help protect it Answer 3: so it’s a mystery

wasent expecting to find this today, anyways i loved every seccond of it and i was wondering if you were gona make more music for your other areas, and if so you should make then youtube live premeres because hype
I have made a few more songs(not for the other areas yet, but for other special things in the story like Twilight, or encountering a Night Wraith)!
But animation/making visuals takes a lot of time and effort, so most likely it will either be a long time till I can post them, or the videos will be more simplified than this one -- this video probably took the most effort out any of the other videos on my channel(except for like, the battle for darkness vs light or the Chiptune Collab Album videos)

This is so beautiful!! I live the depth in each layer! Thw working theme is my favorite, and typically is with most Pikmin songs. This song is much softwr than the other Pikmin songs (at least for tge ones I listen to) but it fits the Pikmin vibe PERFECTLY! And the callback to the Wistful Wild theme is sooo good!! I would love for this project to be fully realized as its own game. The quality of this music shows the passion put into this project, and I love it.

Burrowing pikmin - appearance resembles a sheargrub, but brown and a pikmin leaf; orange flower
When plucked, it digs into the ground and stays burrowed, following you underground with dirt fx above it.
Takes longer to throw (you have to pull it out of the ground) and can't latch onto enemies.
When rushed, they rush underground and pop out under their target, stunning them. doesn't work on flying enemies, obviously.
Carrying power of 1, but carries slower.
Might seem OP but the downside is that any creature that burrows out of the ground will burrow back in and eat the burrowing pikmin very quickly: burrowing pikmin cannot defend themselves.
Visualizing a poor soul watching their burrowing Pikmin count dropping as they realize they walked into the home of a snagret without paying attention

This was just really good! I would honestly love a pikmin game, in the style of this art, it would be beautiful!
There is something I really love about this video, it feels very nostalgic listening to the music. I love the bits of wistful wild i can hear out.
The drawings also feel like something I would have thought about pre Pikmin 3, imagining a new area with a large open world to explore. All these set pieces you could interact with and expand your reach with, coming back to the area with new Pikmin types.
There really hasn't been a video that has gotten me into nostalgia like this ever. It takes me back to when I played Pikmin for the first time back when I was 4 (Pikmin 2 for the Wii specifically). I loved thinking of going outside of the explorable areas and seeing the world around that area. The drawing on the thorn Pikmin active part really gave that feeling.
I really hope this would be turned into a game.

Theory:these pikmin are native to forests that have humid conditions, they work just like normal pikmin but when out of their environment they act like pikmin ai form the first game due to the environment being a little dry. They however cannot go to deserts as they are like amphibians. When normal pikmin enter their environment they become pikmin 1 ai.
Sub-species of blue and pre-evolved yellow pikmin.
They are evolved from/are related to the main trio, ye!
Candies came from an adaptation created by a fusion of Red and Blue onions, (Reds dominant)
Lilies came from a Blue and Yellow onion's combination long ago, (Blues dominant)
and the Thorn's onion is an evolution of what came from a Yellow and Red onion's fusion. (Yellows dominant)
With the Lily Pikmin specifically, you're right on the money!
They are unique in that they don't flower using nectar-- they flower by swimming in water instead.
When they are on dry land, they devolve back into "bud" form, then back to "leaf" form if they're out of the water for too long.
They're at their strongest in the water, swimming faster than any of the other types, and gaining a massive 30x carry strength when submerged!
but they're much weaker than blues on dry land--their attack strength is hampered by the fact that they don't have long stems like their brothers.

A few decades of experience! Music is really fun :)
I used FL Studio and Sampletank 4!
The first one is an audio workstation that lets you make music on your computer, the second one is a kit full of instruments like piano, violin, choirs, etc
Those two cost about $200 each, but that's all the paid software I use.
The rest is mostly free instruments like Surge XT, or built in ones like FPC!

In this rearrangement of the first pikmin game,
It's an extension of the Final Trial--
When you defeat the Emporer Bulblax, its death crushes the nearby wall, allowing you to access the rest of the area
Since the Final Trial and the Wistful Wild are linked in shape somewhat, it does take inspiration from both areas :)
I also have a boss idea for the area
*Man-Of-The-Woods*
Basically a forest version of the Man-At-Legs where it uses sticks, plants, rocks and mud as armor and shoots pebbles out of a wooden cannon, in a similar way like the Gatling Groink

The order of discovery is:
Reds in the Tearful Grotto
Yellows, then Thorns in the Thicket of Light
Lilies in the Forgotten Pond
Blues in the Belly of the Planet
Candies in the Tearful Grotto (need water pikmin to access)

1. Bulboar
- A bulborb that has adapted thorn like spikes around the back of its body and has increased eyesight. Just like the Bulbear, the Bulboar is active during the day when hunting, but it’s a nocturnal sleeper. Its enhanced eyes make it a more persistent and intelligent hunter able to chase down and spot prey for longer distances, also if it can’t get to any pikmin behind a wall, it’ll try to find a way around and get the element of surprise
2. Confectionery Dweevil
- A candy colored Dweevil that smells sweet, but this little bugger loves to cause problems. When threatened, it will fire off a sticky gum like substance that temporarily gets pikmin in a sticky situation. Before it scurries away.
3. Spelunking Sheargrub
- this breed of Sheargrub, are mostly blind and rely on sound, large numbers, teamwork, and movement to overwhelm their prey. They dig underground and attempt to jump out at their prey to snatch them up before tunneling back underground, they appear large groups of 15-16 but swarming them is their one weakness, causing them to be unable to escape while the pikmin clobber them into defeat
What do all these new types do?

in summary though, Thorn guys can take down thorned objects and climb walls,
Lilies can float, unlike Blues, who sink, allowing them to cross Chasms, and Candy Pikmin have a lot of Nectar related powers-- including being able to take down sugar glass walls, and rebuild them into bridges!

When I was really little, I didn't know Pikmin 2 existed already, so this was originally supposed to be a fan Pikmin 2!
so, the story was built off of what happened on Pikmin 1.
I've updated a few things about it (like changing the Candy Pikmin to be pink instead of purple, so they don't get confused with purples) but it's mostly still just my childhood fan story lol

1 what would happen if you decide to stay on the planet when Pikmin get left behind would they join you
2 in one of your post you said that thorn Pikmin could build wooden structures does that mean all Pikmin can build wooden structures are the structures for defense
3 what’s up with the markings olimar got?
If you stay on the planet, the pikmin in your party will go to their Onions,
but the pikmin left behind will be eaten by the monsters of twilight
You don't have any Pikmin with you but the Star Pikmin at twilight.
Thorn Pikmin are faster at building the things like the climbing poles, bridges and other wooden structures like that.
They can also build climbable walls, and build thorned fence gates that you can open and close in order to temporarily wall areas off from enemies
He got those markings when he landed on the planet. He doesn't know where they came from, but they're hidden all over the planet, especially the Wild Edge...
To answer 1: aww that’s unfortunate
