Personalized Hemline Embroidery: Transform Your Dress Top

In this HandiWorks tutorial, I will show you how to create a beautiful embroidery stitching pattern on the hemline of your dress top. Using black cotton fabric and light beige floss threads, I demonstrate the steps to draw a 6x6 millimeter grid with a heat erasable pen and graph paper. For stability and ease, I use a 12" wooden hoop and hoop stand, making this project fun and relaxing. This technique is a fantastic way to personalize your dresses, tops, T-shirts, and more. Experiment with different thread colors to match your dress and easily erase the grid pattern with an iron.

@@draketeeth8004 Oh, yes! I have one mending job that I did in the sashiko style. I have even gotten some sashiko stencils in the traditional patterns, but I have yet to try them. You are so correct that sashiko/boro are similar.
