How do you know the “trigger point”?
Hey, @mollyriley9199! They're spots in your muscles that, when pressed, can cause discomfort elsewhere in your body. They're like little tension hotspots that can be tricky to locate. Sometimes they're right where you feel the pain, but other times, they're sneaky and hard to find. Some people discover them by pressing around and noticing where they feel tender.

You'll know. You'll feel a sharp tense pinch or zap once you activate the trigger point and the nerve. Then roll that sucker out. I have chronic degenerative back issues including severe sacral torsion/SI joint issues and it effects my right glute/piriformis and sciatica. Only thing that relieved it is a trigger release with massage.
My orthopedic doc told me that i have this extremly painful nodule exactly on my SI joint earlier i have taken treatment for arthiritis & disc bulge for the same pain & had cortison injections too but nothing worked & a senior doc told that i dont have any physical change in bone so its a nodule i am in pain for 10 months now i wanna ask can i really have this nodule on my SI joint ???? I have referred pain in my whole left hip & front thigh
Since we aren't able to do a physical exam and see exactly what is going on, I can't for sure recommend what exercises you should do. However, we do have a lot of exercises on our blog for different diagnoses. Please check them out at Feelgoodlife.com. Please let me know if you need help finding them!
Is this safe to do if the piriformis is also trapping the sciatic nerve ?
Hey, @rebeccagaskell508. If you suspect that your piriformis muscle is trapping the sciatic nerve, it's crucial to exercise caution.
They r different ...seperate....because 10 years ago I soley injuried my sciatica nerve near this same area but there was zero swelling...it was different than this inflamed muscle that's near the same area....
Hi, @hootieandyblowfish2013. I agree with you. It's possible to experience both conditions separately, even though they affect the same area. Sciatic nerve problems can have various causes, like disc issues or injuries, leading to symptoms like shooting pain, numbness, or tingling. Piriformis Syndrome involves the irritation of the sciatic nerve by the piriformis muscle.

But I have been using this technique from long time as I have sciatica and his ball therapy instantly relieve my pain and I literally feel relaxed and fall asleep peacefully.....
The release pain I get from this is incredible, such a painful muscle when it's inflamed. This is amazing
Hey, @steviejanowski3751! It's crazy how much pain can come from an inflamed muscle, right? Glad you found something that helps-it can make a huge difference!
