Look up gildors UE viewer, its fairly simple to extract assets, getting anything player related to be usable afterwards is a wholly different story in the case of the arkham games tho lol
Why right mouse attack able if you already press left mouse attack and animation is not over yet? Why combo meter dont breaks even when you clearly missclick? Why batman more removes to apply sequence position than enemies? Why is all so quick, almost no slow motions and camera wiggle at the end of counterattacks?
Simple answer, because I made it so Long answer: I've basically wanted to do something thats a little bit different and takes some lessions from shadow of mordor and shadow of war in the sense thats its more geared towards being fun and enjoyable but with a high skill cap, as knights combat has lots of frustrating aspects if you really dig into it. So attack cancelling and a more lenient combo handling are a thing, but at the same time enemies are more aggressive and there's no more pacing-breaking bs like the ludicrous amount of slo-mo's.
Have you ever considered replacing the pre-existing ported voice lines (eg. batcomputer training AI, thugs, etc) with like, idk, those lines re-voiced by fans of this or anyone willing just to do it for free, just to help avoid any legal issues if WB ever decided to strike out against this? because ngl, im no voice actor, but yknow, posh British Alfred to replace the Batcomputer then literally just any old Bostoner for the thug voices probably aren't that hard to do and ngl I bet plenty of people in these comments, myself included, would jump at the opportunity to do a few, ngl.

My friend, the Batman Begins suit looks beautiful. You see Christian Bale's Batman is my favorite and for me he is the best of all, but well when they added the dark knight's suit in Arkham Knight was very happy because for the first time I am going to play with the appearance of my favorite BATMAN, unfortunately they did not also add the one from Batman Begins, which by the way is my favorite costume . Its neither that simple nor would I really want to tbh, for multiple reasons. Also I doubt that rocksteady actually has anything to do with the arkham games these days, its all outsourced or handled by WBM if there's something that needs to be done now (from what I can tell anyways).
Looks great but as a suggestion idk if this is hard to do have the skeletons break apart into separate bones after takedown and then reform together when they regenerate. Atm reminds me of professor PYG's mission but take advantage of the skeleton notion
I wanted to do that for final blows, but I'd have to readjust skin weights for the entire skeleton meshes as there would be lots of weird stretching otherwise and I haven't had the time to do that yet
Less ambitious goals at first lol, I wouldn't really recommend trying to work with the arkham assets unless you know exactly what you're doing, so smaller projects to get a sense of the engine and it's technicals are far better to learn stuff. The main reason for this is that the way things are handled in the arkham games basically goes against a lot of assumptions that UE4 is designed with, like with excessive root motion use for example. It just needs an awful lot of custom stuff, especially in C++ to make it less of a headache to deal with and to get proper results.
So I found your old post from 5 years back asking how to create the grapple hook and cape glide stuff. Im trying to figure out the same thing and have absolutely no idea how to go about it and theres no tutorials available for this. Would you be willing to help me out?
This was about the only thing I actually looked up, though I only used it for the general approach for grapple collision detections: ua-cam.com/video/F2-i7VcMnW0/v-deo.html Everything else is just math that i winged by basically calculating the desired direction and speed of the movement based on what I had in mind and then I'm just applying that directly instead of using any physics stuff provided by the engine.

I think youve done a great job with the project. Only one gripe I have: the camera follows batman a little too quickly during combat. Gives a weird feeling when watching it. I feel like in the series the camera is always a second or 2 behind batman when he’s fighting.

Camera shakes already are a thing, just not super intense because it usually ends up feeling somewhat weird during gameplay with my much more dynamic camera movement during combat

Because teaching needs: - time which I don't have - patience and motivation to work with complete newbies, which I definitely don't have - breaking everything down in a way that makes sense, which is something I am particularly bad at due to my unconventional approaches to challenges and problems, which often leads to code and logic that seems strange and confusing to outsiders - people who are actually willing to follow through with listening and learning to you, which maybe one out of 20 are, none of this is a weekends job to learn but rather something that needs months or sometimes even years of experience and most people just want the finished thing without putting in the effort (not directed at anyone in particular but it's an observation I made with people asking me to hold their hands through every step) And in addition to that: - nobody is obliged to teach anything to anyone - If you don't have gamedev experience you prolly shouldn't even think about diving head first into a project like mine, especially since it involves a ton of custom solutions and the assets from the arkham games go against a lot of design assumptions unreal is made with (e.g. concerning root motion) - maybe gather some experience with game development and the required tools out of your own motivation first rather than expecting someone else to hold your hand, all of the required documentation is freely available. I didn't have anyone teaching me, I just learned everything on my own because I wanted to. Sorry for this being a bit rant-y, but to call it unfair that I put in the effort and you didn't just comes across as entitled and I am not obliged to waste my time with trying to teach people something that's way beyond their current skill set, I've already made that mistake in the past. If you're experienced and have technical questions that's totally fine by me and I am happy to answer, but I'm not a teacher for newbies. I've done a suit up cinematic in the past, just never did it again because I shifted my focus towards actual gameplay rather than cinematics
