William Holly Johnson is an English artist, musician, and writer, best known as the lead vocalist of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, who achieved huge commercial success in the mid-1980s. Prior to that, in the late 1970s he was a bassist for the band Big in Japan. Wikipedia
I love everything About holly hes a really nice guy 80s my era he was a huge part of my teen years thanks holly your the best!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Holly has been nothing but a sweetheart from when I lived in Fulham
Total gent x
Hi
I'm from Fulham 50 years now in Grantham
Good to see him looking so well
Great to watch. Loved the 80's and they were a part of that time for me. 🙂
Holly's just a wonderful guy, a truly wonderful guy! Can we all put an order in with your Mum for her Bolognese Jacket Potatoes?
For me, my favourite Holly Johnson track is from his solo work - Americano. Nothing not to love about that song... about any of his music!
And 40 years with Wolfgang... congrats and bloody good on ya both.
Thanks Holly ❤
Blue jeans and chinos ❤ his solo work too! I remember buying americano and love train from Woolworths.
@@Mtandy-vm2pt Another legend... Woolworths! 🤣
The power of love always makes me cry because of a dear school friend I met in 1984 who has now passed away in 1995. Happy childhood memories ❤❤❤
I went to his mum's house when I was a teenager. Me and my friend Jane tracked them down. We went to Marks mum's house and Brian "Knasher" mum's too! Obsessed I was with FGTH. They were bloody good live too. Best days of my life by a country mile... It's so beautiful that he still loves, and is still with Wolfgang 😍 the power of love indeed 😎✌🕊
So strange to see the pop stars of your day looking older .makes me realise how old I am !
What a lovely lovely man! I want to go!
Hollys so cool, and camp lol, love him oxoxoxoxo
What a sweet man❤
Holly is adorable as he was in the 80s
He's such a legend! I love his music,
It was mainly my mum and dad introduced me to the eighties I never knew that so many good songs from that period! Relax being one of them! :)
Love his honesty on Oasis “bit of a divorce and want to replenish your resources!” 😂❤
Yet another legendary Liverpool guy!
I always remember Holly's MySpace profile in the mid 2000s.
Occupation: stayin' alive
He's still at it.
Thank god I grew up in Germany and Relax wasn't banned for us.
What a legend. He should come to Wales too though.
His solo stuff is just as good as Frankie, it's a shame it's not so well known
Have to disagree. Was a big Frankie fan but his solo stuff was way too bland and poppy and the lyrics were Naff for the most part.
Getting banned could be the route to success.
People don’t like to be told that is not for you!
At his Mums, crikey she must be getting on a bit, fantastic.
He and Allen Cummings could be brothers
Superb stuff about calling up for tickets but loves Internet shopping 😆 BRILLIANT
"Banned: is relatively because John Peel played Relax on Radio 1 and BBC World Service when it was released.
Mike read got it banned
So pleased I don't take music and musicians so serious today. Wished I would have known its all a load of nonsense years ago.
The Secret is a FGTH Tour in 2025 imo, its happening.
How anyone can listen to that voice for more than 2 seconds deserves a medal
What's wrong with his voice? Explain!
@@sarkanysusu2050 if you don't know I'm not telling you lol 😆
@@michaelmarshall9132 He speaks interestingly, I don't know if it's because he's Scouse or he had a mild stroke, but I don't find his voice unpleasant at all!
@@sarkanysusu2050 he's talked like that all his life
He is speaking strange. Has he had a stroke or something else? Or because of the plastic surgery? Don't mean any disrespect.
Well, he's been through a lot...
I don't know if he had plastic surgery. I think he went through hell during the FGTH years and then I think because of the disease!
He's doing great for someone who was in the final stages of Aids in the mid 90s & came back from it.
@@FactsBeFacts Where it was mentioned that he was in the final stages of AIDS? I don't remember that was stated in his book or interviews!
@@sarkanysusu2050 Even in his book he says he was diagnosed with the Aids related illness Kaposi’s Sarcoma in the summer of 1991 after he discovered strange lumps on his skin. He had never had a hiv test up until this point & he tested positive. It was only 1 week after his HIV diagnosis that he was told he had full blown Aids. You can look up the life expectancy for full blown Aids back then but we know it wasn't long, a couple of years & the combination therapy didn't arrive till 1996.
My god the BBC scraping the barrel .. he looks and speaks awful!
Did we watch the same interview? 🤔 Because I think for his age and his illnesses and what he's been through, he looks very good! He was very cool!
I wouldn't bother. Johnson looks mindered along with his forefront Steve Strange. Shame though
Holly Johnson is a wonderful human being.
@markashby2622 he is indeed mark
I LOVE The Power of Love! Way to go Holly.
He was singing flat all the way through.
@@MGrayl-ib5fo , on the album? I didn’t hear that.
@@MGrayl-ib5foReally? Because I think he's a good singer. I think he was the one who gave it his all despite the circumstances!
@@sarkanysusu2050 All studio trickery,can`t sing a note.
@@mjh5437We could go on and on about how many singers have their voices upgraded in the studios. By the way, Holly not only sang in the studio but also live and he was good!
Top bloke.❤️👍
Power of love is just a fantastic song ... Very very powerful song that one.
What a performer and great bloke. The Power of Love is timeless.
He's such a great inspirational person,I really like him , he's like a breath of fresh air , such a legend, long may he live 💓🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 such a wonderful person ❤️from my fav city of Liverpool 😁
Only if you're as bent as a nine Bob note
I used to go to his house in Parsons Green to collect tapes and it was never ready. He always invited me to his lounge. Nice man, I didn't like his dog jumping on me.
What!!!!!!! Not nice of you to say this about his dog jumping on you!!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE DOGS!!!!! BE NICE TO DOGS NEXT TIME , EVERY DAY !!!!! DOGS DESERVE A LIFE TO LIVE!!!! KAPISH!!!!!
Great hair
That Liverpudlian humour😂
Look at the quality of the two presenters! The BBC has dumbed down deliberately in the mistaken belief that professional presenters with integrity and intelligence will scare off viewers. Welcome to the condescending world of the BBC. And they then pretend falling viewing figures are just down to trends...
The 80s music that transitioned us into and through adulthood
The BBC the police of morals 😃 😀😂😂😂
Possibly the best synth band in early mid 80s b4 depeche mode and erasure made more albums
What a real gent - years ago I arranged an event in London, and Holly came along and was so charming, he sent me a 'thank you' note the next day, which I still cherish.
Still the Scousest person in music.
Pete Wylie might take exception to that!
@@pablodelnorte9746 Pete Wylie should see a Cardiologist, if he has a heart that is swollen to the size of a city!!!
I really like him.
National treasure 👏👏👏
Hardly.
Trevor Horn was the key person who made these songs into epic pieces of music
Really? Because I thought the demo version of Relax was good too! Why would you want to downplay Holly's role in the success of these songs and give it all the credit to Trevor Horn? Are any of you in love with that guy?
@@sarkanysusu2050 Yes really. Trevor Horn turned so many bands tracks into something much bigger. Not just this band. Seal, Art of Noise, ABC, Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Yes and on and on. He could transform a track. The demo Relax does not sound anything like the final version. No, I dont love any males. Such a weird question.
@@DAVIDE-bk8byI'm sure he's, but there are many great producers outside of him! I didn't claim that he didn't completely rework the demo. I said the original was very good too! I really dislike that his hardcore fans just want to give him all the credit for the success. Without Holly he wouldn't have had the song to work on! 💯
Icky....That accent is unbearable.
Nope! This is supposed to be the Scouse accent! It may be strange, but at least I understand what Holly is saying. I saw old interviews with FGTH and just couldn't figure out what Ped and Nasher were saying!
incredible they did this exhibition !
An NDA 🤔 some contractual agreement ? FGTH ?
The power of love still makes me cry as it did then. I was only a pre-teenager at the time that was out but I fell in love with Holly even then And fell in love with everything that he symbolised. In my young mind he was very misunderstood and I couldn't wait for the world to understand.
Wish he had re grouped with the originals. He had the opportunity years ago (see Bands Reunited) but passed for what ever reason. If only he really made Love his goal they could have been touring for years.
NDA
Non Disclosure Agreement 🤔
Holly sounds bad, has he had a stroke?
No, it's just extreme scouse 🤣
@@russellingham2069 I think so!
