Are there any exercises you would recommend to increase flexibility and strength off ice?

Squats, off ice lunges, stretching, and weight lifting. The best thing to do is to go work with a fitness trainer. Or work with one long enough to learn what's best for your body build.

Hi Oleg, when I do that I have only my back skate's blade draging on the ice, so the boot do not touch the ice. Then I of coarse have to push forward a little harder each step, because my back blade is like slowly stopping me. The main reason is I don't want to scratch the leather of my boot =) I ♥ your strenght + agility + flexibility series.

Thanks Peter!! To avoid wearing through your skates, get some skate tape, or black electrical tape and wrap it around the lower portion of your boot. This way you will preserve the boot, and the tape is sturdy enough to where it won't wear away from the ice.
