Helpful info. Although my test failed even after following the two steps. I gave my phone for broken screen repairing today. Came to know the faulty finger lock after reaching home. Disappeared from settings. Is it possible that the repairing guys screwed up the sensor(?) by accident? Or they intentionally removed the finger lock mechanism? I have always been very skeptical and suspicious with any third party mobile repairing people. Thhanks anyways for the helpful viiddeo.

Thank you! My fingerprint scanner was dead and now is working again. In CIT test it failed but I executed next step in your guide and it worked. I deleted all FingerprintExtensionService data, restarted the phone, and the fingerprint sensor started working again. Xiaomi MI 8 Lite phone. Thanks!!!!

for me also it showed failed but did fast reboot. I followed this method it came back In order to do it: Power off your Xiaomi device. Press and hold the Power button & Volume - keys until the Mi Bunny icon appears on the screen. Keep the keys pressed for a few more seconds until the phone turns off again. After this you can follow above video procedure

I would recommend doing the resetting app data first. Then to check hardware. Cuz for me the test does not respond at all.

The fingerprint check sensor is saying "fail for NO FP"
Bro just fk that and do the rest, my mobile also told me that but i just skiped that and finished the rest and it fixed my problem.
