This was back when hard rock bands still both looked and sounded like they could take on the entire world and melt the heads of anyone who'd oppose, by sole means of sheer awesomeness. Nobody needed to make hard rock music any different, ever. Right there, in that year, and on this album, it was immaculately perfect.
I inadvertently came across this band, though it was destined to be, by the GODS OF ROCK! In 1991, I had $1, and bought Wings of Heaven on cassette, and listened to it on my way home from the shopping mall. I was mesmerized! Though sad, that I thought I would never see them live in concert. Ten years later, I relocated to the UK, and saw this great band live several times. On one performance, they played the Wings of Heaven album in its entirety. Just goes to show. Things happen for a reason, and never give up on your hope. To Bob and the boys, you have provided us so much inspiring material. Thank you!
Superb song, I remember it well. Bob Catley's energetic and enthusiastic performance on this puts me in mind of Kevin Keegan - bet KK would love to front a melodic rock band from the 80s.
This is THE BAND for me NO airs and graces ALWAYS have time for their fans.Quality music.Live shows that you are NOT ripped off at.What more do you need?
Magnum were on the verge of global success with this album. All killer, no filler. Sadly, Goodnight LA fell short. Then again, maybe it was a blessing. Not too much success to keep a good band grounded. Saw them live a few times in London. Even when some bands would have retired, the lads keep blasting away.
Last time i heard this was on the Friday Rock Show on VH1 back in 98 (15yrsold) ! sometimes you forget how awesome this song is Tommy Vance you made my Fridays awesome back then R.I.P Tommy.
I bought this single, my first magnum buy from Boots in 1988 when I saved up my spends money. Have followed the band like mad ever since. They will always be a part of me. Saw them 8 times in 2011 Visitation tour
Fine song from one of my favourite albums, by one of my favourite bands. Silly video, but weren't they all 20 years ago? They're still playing live, and still great; last Saturday in Wolverhampton, they even did "Don't Wake The lion" as an encore!
Remember Magnum opening for Whitesnake on their first full tour at Newcastle city hall, October 1978 and first night of the tour, the night the Geordie choir took over in the middle of Aint No Love and started the legend.
I genuinely think Magnum have consistently been quality thanks to their "under the radar" success. They could have been huge but they did well enough to keep writing quality songs and filling venues wherever they go. Quality music over quality big buck success.
Health and safety just wouldn't allow them to perform on that stage these days, so many fall and trip hazards and the volume is way above 85db. Didn't bother me listening to them back in the 80s though :)
Avantasia brought me to Magnum. Tobias sammet knows his music.
Great band. Deserved to be bigger than they were.
True but being big is not everything. Its just about having great music.
Great Video
Great Band
Great Singer

We're all living under the same old sky. We're all living telling the same old lies. In these days of no trust...
Magnum are awesome and never received the credit they thoroughly deserve. This music never ages. It'll always be great!
👍🇸🇪
One of m favorite bands EVER...
I love them SO much.!!!!!!!!
But unfortunately underrated

Rafael Hernández Aun grabando discos 30 años después. En Enero sale su nuevo trabajo album 19. Ya la voz de Bob no da mucho pero aun dan calidad.
Why the fade-out, before Catley hits the high ”C”?...
Anyone 2033???

Roger Taylor of Queen was considered to become one of the producers, but that idea was scrapped.
Roger Taylor produced the previous album "Vigilante"
Where do I get the coat, hat and beard?
