Yikes! The end of your video says it all. Looking like you have cancer and being malnourished is what I'm seeing in everyone I know that have gone this route for weight loss. I have some extended family and many coworkers that are on these drugs and have lost a mass amount of weight, not changed their eating habits, don't exercise, have aged rapidly and literally look fragile with NO muscle. Some have even had gastric bypass and are now using this. The side effects alone are so scary. I respect you and your opinion so much and that you have also given all the dangers of using these drugs. I just can't see any reason to use these drugs. P.S. some of the people I know on these drugs have stopped using them and are now gaining back the weight very quickly. I'm 60, strength train, walk daily, and yes, yes, yes, eat my protein! It's never easy but our health is so worth it.❤
I really enjoyed that. I am on Mounjaro. I started January 2. My A1C was 12.2 and after a little more than 2 months I had gotten it down to 7.1. Dr will test again in June to see where it’s at. I feel better about my journey after listening to you. I get over 100 g of protein a day. I do drink 2 - 30 grams shakes of protein a day but I am a meat lover and eat a good portion protein. I also do intermittent fasting. I go 4 times a week to wellness center an do weight/strength training. I also walk 3 to 5 miles a day. I weighed this morning and I have lost 50 lbs. total. That was my goal to be at by May 1. That’s my 67th birthday. I go to Diabetic Dr on June 8 and my goal is to try and be at 180. I’m a female, 6 ft tall and have always played sports and workout at different times in my life. I love to cook and eat. My family at Christmas made me realize that I have a problem with food. I have accepted that I am a diabetic. I used to say oh I’m really not a diabetic or I can control it if I wanted to. I finally have stood up and realized I am a diabetic yesterday, today and will be tomorrow. Only I can control that fork and I want to be a healthy person. Im no longer taking my Metformin and gilpizide to control my fork. Thanks for your thoughts. I will start thinking more about where do I end this. Im was thinking I would have to stay on this weekly shot.
My blood glucose was 142 and 10 weeks later on 2.5 dosage My glucose level was 92 also my A1C was 7.6 and after 10 weeks is now 5.7. Also lost 17 lb in 72 days. All of these benefits were derived on the lowest dosage of 2.5 mg.
Trizeparide does not cause 40 percent muscle loss. That is not accurate. Visceral fat mass percent change was 7.3% versus 40.1%, respectively. Lean mass loss was 2.6% versus 10.9%. Those on tirzepatide had about a threefold greater reduction in fat mass than lean mass, resulting in an overall improvement in body composition. Fat mass as a proportion of overall body mass decreased from 46.8% to 44.7% with placebo, compared with 46.2% to 38.5% with tirzepatide. Similarly, lean mass as a proportion of body mass increased from 50.7% to 52.4% with placebo, compared with 51.0% to 58.1% with tirzepatide. Fat-to-lean mass ratio improved more with tirzepatide than placebo, with greater improvements observed in patients who lost more body weight. Morbidly obese patients have diabetes increased risk of cardiovascular events asleep apnea high blood pressure and the list goes on and on. These medications resolve all or many of those issues. If you ask me when you do a risk-based analysis taking the drug is far better than not taking the drug. I speak only of those that are morbidly obese with a BMI of over 30.
Congratulations on your weight loss that's remarkable. I am now down 32 lb My A1C was 7.6 and is now 5.6 My blood sugar was 148 and is now 92. Don't listen to the negative noise this drug is a game changer. With all mass of weight loss You're going to lose some muscle mass but being morbidly obese has a host of horrors which are worse. Cardiac events diabetes sleep apnea and the list goes on and on and on. People that are diabetic that take insulin injections take them for life so I am not concerned if I need to be on this medication in some form or another once I hit my weight loss goal. There are many negative people out there that want to shit on this medication or spread fear none of which is accurate believe the clinical studies on the science and ignore the naysayers.
I enjoyed your video and found it balanced. I'm 62 years old and on Mounjaro at the 7.5 mg dose. Its purpose is to control my Type 2 Diabetes with a combination of insulin regulation and weight loss. My starting A1c was 10.5 and now, just over 3 months later, It measures 6.4%. When I next have A1c measured, I expect it to have dropped closer to the "normal" range, if not squarely in it. My daily glucose monitoring shows significant reductions. Really significant. For me, since I'm diabetic and that's never going to go away, I expect to be on the drug (or one like it) for the rest of my life. I am fully aware that if I stop taking it, I will lose all the benefits from it. It's only logical. No drug will "cure" my diabetes; it can only put it in remission which is a fleeting prognosis. I'll stick with Mounjaro because it's working, the side effects (for me) are insignificant, and my insurance covers all but a co-pay that's reasonable. Should any of that change, I'll re-evaluate. For now, I'm good.
Type 2 diabetes is a condition that can go away with a balance diet and lifestyle. Once your A1C goes below 6, you are no longer known as a type 2 diabetic. Are you confusing type 1 diabetes to type 2, because it is not the same.
@@ericajuan7042 No, I'm not confused. I'm working from the ADA, my doctor's advice, and scientific studies/analysis. And, at this point, 2 months later, my A1c is 5.2%, so my diabetes is in remission, but it will never be cured. Even with diet modification (which I have done), exercise (which I have done), and "lifestyle" changes (who knows what that means), I will always have diabetes because my metabolism is reacting to the Mounjaro as much as the other factors. Missing any of those factors, including the diabetes medication, my blood sugar would come roaring back. My pancreas and I will continue to age, and there's no stopping that; the medication is helping my pancreas do what it's no longer robust enough to fully do. I'm managing my condition very well, as it turns out, and I don't see a good reason to change that.
I have been on Manjuro since October 22 I have lost 125 pounds! I still weigh 315! It has really helped me! I am switching to Ozempic in August because of insurance not covering Manjuro. I am worried that is will not help me keep going! I am hoping and motivated in losing this weight! I am good with taking this medicine for life but when you weigh 436 what do have to lose?
I tried Monjaro last summer. The 4-week intro dose made me so sick and my blood pressure dropped very low. It was scary and took a couple of months to get me blood pressure back to a decent range. Good luck to those that can take it, but I can’t.
This is super great information. I am starting a clinical trial of an oral version of mounjaro. I'm going to get a personal trainer to go with it. I'm also going to work at getting my protein up as high as you say....which seems extraordinarily high to me, but will try!!
Amanda, obesity is chronic. It is a chronic condition. It takes a lot of tools in the toolbox. The GLP 1 medication’s are another tool to use and they are not a quick fix.
Amanda knows obesity and already knows the things you said in your comment. She was my RD at a bariatric program before she started her LEAN program. Out of all the RDs I've ever had she is the most knowledgeable and least judgemental. That said, my BFF only needed to lose 15 pounds and went to a weight loss clinic where they give these drugs to anyone. I feel like that would be kind of who this video is for, personally.
Amanda, I appreciated this video! I’ve been on the fence about Semiglutide, but I’d like to take your 7 week course. I tried signing up but it defaults to September and I would like first of October. Is it possible?
You didn’t talk about what they do for insulin which is the main problem for a diabetic. Are their studies that say these drugs improve insulin sensitivity?
I tbought the idea was not to eat so little and have to continue to decrease calories? I did that without drugs for years. This eating more protein, a lifting weights and walking isnt working. 😢 I can't take hormones and am in peri. It's awful.
At the end of the day you have to add more protein but still be in a caloric deficit! That is key to weight loss. Also as you age you have to address your hormones!
I’ve been on ozempic now for nearly 3 months I’m on full strength but I must be the only person that this drug has not helped me I have not lost an ounce of weight, I have had all the side affects but no weightloss, I eat healthy and have a busy job, please I need some help. Will I continue or just give up
Hi Amanda, thank you for all this information. I am planning on starting wegovy if my insurance approves it. I have never been able to keep weight off or lose it after regaining it. I feel desperate to feel healthy because I am over 45 with 3 little ones.. I would think I could wean off of it just like other medication. I also have graves ds. Do you know if yhere are any studies on affecting patients with graves ds?

That was an excellent run down! The info you provide on all your videos is top notch! I’m a fan for life!
Amanda, thank you so much for this information. It is very helpful . This is what I needed to hear.
Thank you so much for this!!!!!!! Thank you for being willing to share your knowledge Always so helpful!!!!!
Very insightful!

Mounjaro is not a Semaglutide medicarion it's medical component is trizeparide. A GLP-1 and GIP agonist.

Add BCAAs and EAAs to your daily diet, before a workout.

On Wegovy 3 weeks. Lost 6 lbs. had bad nausea last week and vomiting. I have ZERO appetite. Forcing myself to eat because I feel weak.
