It was such a good experience playing this game again, really enjoyed the game, am thinking of playing more of these old games and making videos about them, thank you so much for watching and commenting 😁👍
Makes sense, am sure this game must have been best played on ps2 but it is still so much fun, besides all the bugs and glitches the game has a soul and it just wants to be loved and played, thank you so much for watching and commenting 😁👍
As you said, the game is not perfect, but it has a heart. It's a game that was made for PS2 then ported to Xbox and PC. The PC version is the worst, especially when you play it in 2024, you'd need a few tweaks to make it work correctly. I replayed it a month ago and managed to make it run like I remember it from 2004 vanilla PS2. Basically, you need a controller (Xbox 360 real or emulated), take a moment to correctly map the inputs in the menu (it's a bit tricky) and most importantly, you need to limit the FPS to 30 in your graphic driver settings (if you have nvidia, go to the control panel -> advanced settings -> select the game executable), because the game physics break over 59 FPS + the audio un-syncs during cutscenes. When you limit FPS to 30 everything magically works, so you'll have less bugs and less input problems. The game itself is quite good, I love the story, it has a few holes and unexplained elements, but it has depth if you pause to think about it (fear, fate, perseverance, regret, hope and a few more themes). The platforming is good, the combat system is great (at least in my opinion). Yes, there are some bad things: some backtracking, but it was still fun for me. The camera can be tricky sometimes, but once you understand its logic, you adapt to it. The map is unclear, and you can get lost sometimes (what to do? where to go? especially that the game is an open sandbox). I still think it's a great game that is worth playing even in 2024.
This is one of those rare moments where I would say that a remake of this game would actually be good, the Prince Of Persia franchise has never really known where to go, they teased a new game back in I think 2013- 2014 or some time back but by the looks of it it was canceled , you can still find the trailer if you look for it, maybe I should make a video about it lol. I still need to play Two Thrones then I can say that I finished the whole trilogy. The interesting part is the same guy who created Assassins Creed also basically made Prince of Persia sands of time lol so it is really a crazy story. I feel bad that platform games fell off and it's most likely dew to peoples interests changing and 3rd person games taking over like gta 4 and just cause 2 for example, maybe they can make a come back who knows, I really thank you for all the helpful advice on how to make the game work, thanks for putting in an effort to help out, thank you so much for watching and commenting 😁👍
actually the game has 2 endings, the ending you showed/most players got to experience is the non canon ending, so basically the alternative ending is the canon ending, its weird but i like it, especially if you didnt know and find out years later like me.
It's kinda interesting that you mentioned that because someone else commented the same thing and all these years I had no idea, only found out when they told me about it. The person said that you need to find a specific sword that I must have missed somewhere because I didn't even get the full health bar so I know that I must have missed a few things in the game and the alternate ending was one of those things, just goes to show you how good the prince of persia games used to be, thank you so much for watching and commenting 😁👍
I just completed it two days ago on PS3(which is kinda bad port) and while the first half was really strong the latter half got too repetitive and enemies became sponges that block most of the combos. Until you get the Water sword at least. I played on hard, btw.
That is true the game starts out really good but then it feels like it begins to loose faith in itself, The thing I didn't like we going back and forth to the same locations lol, there was a fair amount of filler in this game, the lasts sword I got was the Scorpion Sword, which was really powerful but I after checking, looks like I missed out on a lot on my play through, you played the game on had, must have been a nightmare lol. I didn't get some of the other swords and I didn't get the full health bar, managed to get a fair amount of stuff though, my favorite part was when you got the Mask of the Wraith, the game became so much fun after that lol, thank you so much for watching and commenting 😁👍
@@Akrioz Oooooooooooooooooh! so that's how you get the Alternate ending, heard there was an alternate ending but had no idea how to get it lol, also, had no idea they released a ps3 version of the trilogy, reminds me of the Xbox 360 version of NFS Most wanted 2005 lol.
@@Akrioz Not necessarily. Getting all the 9 life upgrades will double maximum HP, but the water sword isn't automatically received. The water sword spawns at the hourglass chamber after getting all 9 life upgrades, but you have the OPTION to pick it up or don't pick it up. If you pick it up, the final boss will be the Dahaka. If you didn't pick it (or didn't get all 9 life upgrades) the final boss will be Kaileena
It brings me so much joy to see people like you talking about your experience with one of my beloved franchises from early 2000s

@@chillyman7340 you get the water sword after obtaining the full health bar, yeah. It basically allows you to fight dahaka at the end.
