My steps to reduce creasing on makeup (for all skin types) 1) Make sure to wash your face with cleanser, keep your face clean. This is important to remove the excess amount of oils and sweats on your face 2) Never apply moisturizer first, moisturizer does help on moisturising your face, but it does not moisturize your skin to the extent level, instead apply toner on your face first, it helps to keep your face hydrated and reduce creasing 3) Apply serum, it moisturize your skin and helps you to achieve the soft and dewy makeup look 4) Apply moisturizer 5) Apply sunscreen, best with SPF 6) Apply primer (This step isn't compulsory, primer is just a base to keep your makeup fresh, if you don't prep your skin properly, whatever type of primer you're using is useless.) 5) Then only apply foundation, your foundation can be anything, but if your skin are prone to acne or has any scars/camouflage, it's best to colour correcting your face before applying foundation. Choose hydrating (dewy) type of foundation for dry skin instead the matte one, matte foundation is more suitable for oily type skin tone. As someone that's working as a beauty consultant, preventing any creases on your face is most likely impossible. But it can be reduced if you prep your skin's with the correct steps. Makeup doesn't need to be perfect, it needs to be something that suits your skin. The reality is you cannot keep your makeup look flawless all the time, it can be cakey anytime under the sunlight, so make sure to prep your skin properly. Edit: ** Avoid using powder foundation, powder foundation can be really cakey even if you prep your skin properly, use liquid or cream foundation. Make sure to use foundation brush to apply foundation on your skin, and damp your sponge before you blend everything on your skin. This is important to provide a skin-like natural effect. DON'T EVER USE beauty blender BEFORE applying with foundation brush.
@@jennylou2676 Setting powder is used to set your makeup and help to put your makeup in place. But it doesn't keep your makeup lasting to the extent level. Instead apply setting powder after you finished applying makeup and spray your face with setting spray. Your makeup won't be able to last if you don't spray with setting spray.
Gurrlllll!! I implemented these tips along with the ones in your “last lasting makeup “ video & my face has never looked better! It stayed on longer than usual!! I’m a up & coming makeup artist, so I’m excited to try on my clients!💗
Hi girl, I use the your technique yesterday and was absolutely beautiful. The moisturizer before the primer was great. My skin loved it. I use an oil based moisturizer and my skin was glowing. I always felt that my skin felt more dry with makeup but I could never figure out the technique that works. Thank you!!
Easy cakey solution: simply just add a small amount of primer. That gets rid of cakiness without having to remove all the makeup you've already done. It smooths it out. It's cakey because it's not smooth. A thin layer of primer will smooth it right out. Do not use lotion or oil, as it would be too heavy and moist and it would remove the makeup from it's place instead of smooth it out.
This video is really helpful, I have really dry skin and was wondering why it was coming up looking textured and cakey even though i was using little foundation. My guess is it was the conflict between the foundation and the primer.
Listen I barely comment on UA-cam but sis… every since I watched your videos on how to apply makeup properly my makeup in person + on videos has been FLAWLESS. I am 4 minutes into watching your video and I have already learned so much especially when you break down the difference between the oily and water based products a d which would work best for your skin
Ale Jay I want to compliment you on all of your tutorials that you have done on UA-cam I'm 66 years old I have dark circles and bags under my eyes and I'm having great difficulty even concealing those as well as deep smile lines I have watched so many tutorials that I'm very confused I'd like to see you do a tutorial for mature women women over 50 but sweetheart you're doing a great job and I'm learning a lot but I'm still not getting things exactly right also having problems matching my foundation I'm on a fixed income I can't afford the high price products so I generally get my products from drug stores in Walmart thank you hopefully you will get this message
Why have I never paid attention to the formulation of my primer & foundation? 🤯 This was all so helpful! Going to check all my primers and foundations to see which go together. I bet that’s why I haven’t had luck. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you. Your tuto help a lot for beginners. I began to use make up only 2 years ago. And began with eyes make up. Today I want to learn more about make up and skincare. I thank you. So much
Appreciating all these videos especially as a beginner thanks Ale Jay! Also can you please make a video on different eyelashes you wear their all so pretty 💙
Hi I just saw this video now suggested by utube. I just want to thank you for your generosity of sharing your knowledge as i need this tips I have watched a lot of make up tutorials on utube but I find your videos more informative and genuine. Keep going. 👍
So glad I found your channel! I love the explanation of every step and all products used. I love your eye shadow! Would love some vids on applying eye shadow like you did here with different colors. ❤
I am over 50 years old and never wore makeup before. Thank you for doing this video I am trying to learn how to cover up melasma on my cheeks. I find it hard to choose a foundation and concealer to match my skin tone which is almost like yours maybe a bit lighter. Plus I am in Canada some of the products aren't available in Canada.
Oil hydrates your skin. So although it makes sense off the head to avoid it, it is actually what you should do. The reason a person's skin is usually very oily is because it's compensating for the the fact that it is Dehydrated. You can have oily skin and still Dehydrated skin. Dry skin and dehydrated skin is different.
Thank you for sharing make up tips with us I really like how your make up looks so naturally I really want to put into practice the tips but the challenge might be the products hence am in South Africa some of your products are not available in here but I will try to find something similar to those ❤️❤️
You are so eloquent and I love this video. This has been my problem for a while. Thanks for the basic tips on the importance of skin hydration, and and knowing my products and skin type so well (this part felt like a science lesson and it’s so practical).
I have oily Tzone but I feel like my skin is still so dry lol it’s horrible. But I love this video. I just got a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. I never thought my matte products would be a problem

My makeup kept getting cakey and one day I stopped using powder and it helpe so much and my skin is dry so I use a water based primer and it helps me so much and if you have dry skin use a lot of moisturiser before applying makeup.
