  • One way to make a home made CFT bin. The barrel was free, put about $70 into it.

Hello Brian!! Great to see that you have the new channel up and running! I'll be sure to mention it in an upcoming video to try to recapture some of your old subscribers that really value your videos! That DIY CFT you build looks fantastic!! Can't wait to track it progress! I really like the extra touches you put in with the wheels, extra long base, and the handle!! Excellent job describing its features!!🪱🪱🪱

Thanks for the kind words Patrick!!!
I know how heavy 35 gal of worm castings can be, had to put her on wheels, one thing for sure, it is staying in the basement.
Plan on doing monthly updates, already had to tweak the moisture level, so far so good.
Thanks for the shout out, really appreciate it, will try and put out some worthwhile videos.
      Stay Well my friend!!!!

It's late and I have to work in the morning...had to watch all the way back though 😂. I have not seen a setup like yours before, you make it all seem easy, but a load of work went into making that bin! Well done, looking forward to your next video Mister.

As I was gluing all the PCV tubes together, I was thinking it would have been easier to have just spent the $$$ on a CFT bin. Now, I am glad I went through the trouble, it is unique.

Our computers got hacked back in Oct and I lost access to the channel. All the videos are there, I just can not make comments or do anything with the videos.
Thanks again for watching! Stay Well!!!

Hi Brian! Welcome back! I’ve subscribed ❤️.
Nice build 👍. I’d love a CFT but I’d never get back up from being on the floor harvesting 😂😂. Looking forward to more videos ❤️🪱👍

I have so many worms, can not imagine that I started out with a pound 4 years ago.
This is a method of raising worms that you just harvest castings from the bottom.
Besides this I have 2, 50 gal grow bags, 1, 15 gal grow bag and a tote set as a breeder bin.
I have no idea how many worms I have, a lot to be sure.
The main reason I am hooked on raising worms is the amazing biology I see under the microscope. Bacteria, fungal spores, pollen, protozoa, fungal hyphae, nematodes and micro arthropods. Everything a living garden soil needs.
I will never be the gardener you are, I have to narrow of a focus.
I really enjoy growing the means to a garden, as much as growing the garden proper.
Thank You so much for commenting, means a lot to me.
      Stay Well!!!!

Looking for to seeing how this works out. That drum will hold a lot of worms and materials. Too bad you couldn't get your original channel back in operation.

      Hey Steve!
My final option was a old high school friend, if he could not retrieve it, I doubt anyone could, it is what it is.
The CFT bin is going fine, will be posting updates every month or so.
Gotta love this weather, I have celery and carrots coming up I left in the garden for seeds this year.
      Thanks for watching!
      Stay Well my friend!!!!

That's going to process a substantial amount of material for a relatively small footprint, Brian. Great idea to put it on rolling casters because it's going to get heavy! I can't consider a CFT because of my mobility problems. Maybe someone will design one on a hydraulic lift for those of us who can't get down onto the ground...

      Hey Sandra!
I know how heavy 35 gal of worm castings can be, had to make sure I could move it around easily.
Already had to change things up a bit. Seeing how the barrel itself can not breathe, I had to remove the bubble wrap and paper as a cover for a few days to let it dry out. once I figured that out, all is well.
Looking forward to posting monthly videos on the bins progress, so far so good.
Not looking forward to having to get on my arthritic knees to harvest, sucks getting old.
      Stay Well!!!

I will be doing an update on Feb 5th, kinda on a monthly basis.
Had to change the cover because material was way to wet, left it open for a few days then covered with just paper, so far so good.
Thanks again for watching, Stay Well!!!!

Organic can still use roundup as a dessication to kill and dry before mold comes on the cut grains, idk about GMO with organic certifications but i feel organic is baseless sorry. Also true with alfalfa and hay

I do agree with everything you said.
I stopped using local manures in my hot compost just for those reasons.
It is almost impossible to get "clean" anything for the garden, that is why I try and grow and make my own amendments and natural fertilizers.
Thank you so much for watching, Stay Well!!!

Great looking CFT bin Brian. Glad you were able to show it off. The feed looks like it will be a great chow for the worms, especially pulverized. Sandra shared your channel and I just did too. Hopefully some of the people that were subscribed before are able to find their way back to you. 😁🪱
