    Agree about renters being treated as second class citizens.
    I was made to feel like a poor beggar asking for more to get some flyscreens repaired. It took over 3 months. I had plans to make repairs and even do some painting because the place had been neglected and I'd have been happy to make my home nicer.
    Now I am actively trying to buy a place - despite never really planning on it in the past - because I'm just so damn tired of being treated like crap to want to improve the home I live in.
    This was the final straw in 20 years of renting and having similar experiences in other places. Sick of it.

    Actually no there is a 3rd option for getting into the property market. Co-ownership with others.

    You can rent lifestyle cheaper then buying it.
