South Australia wasn’t the first state to have free settlers. Free settlers were in NSW alongside convicts way back at the beginning. South Australia was the only state that didn’t have convicts.

I've been up to flinders heaps of times when I was younger, camped down at alligator gorge ... always wanted to travel on the steam train..

Joan Lockwood. I loved camping at alligator gorge, it was such a unique experience, one of my crazy experiences was when me and my brother got attacked by a kangaroo, luckily we ran out untouched but it was terrifying.
