Mate, I know what you went through ! I had the same drama with my grow on pond, as you know. Good you got it sealed. Don’t give up on the fibreglassing, till my grow on i was pretty successful with all my other projects . With the bottom drain grate you got, make sure leaves don’t get in the pond. I regret it in mine now. Leaves sink down and block it sometimes . Otherwise your grown on looks mint, mate! 👍👌
Hi notice the grow on pond window/glass is deeper than the main pond is that buy choice and would you have liked the main pond window the same (deeper). How much resin did you use on grow on pond (not inc the stuff that went off quickly, when you purchased did you make a guess. thx love videos
My main pond window is 600mm deep my grow on pond window is 750mm deep. I was told by a reputable pond window supplier that if I had a window deeper than 750mm the thickness of the glass would have to be 35mm instead of 25mm. In my opinion 750mm deep is perfect because you can get your arm to the bottom with a scouring pad to clean. If I had a time machine my main pond window would be 750mm deep as well. I used 25L of resin and 5L of flow coat. If you head over to "Swindon Composit Supplies" they have a calculation to work out how much resin you need to use per meter depending on what thickness of matting you buy. It's a little confusing as they work in grams for the matting and the resin. I also phoned swindon composit supplies and they were happy to help and confirmed my workings out to be correct. 👌👍😎
It looks like you didn't apply enough resin when you were fiberglassing. It'll cause pinhole leaks. I see a lot of white patches while you're fiberglassing.
I'd go with a box weld liner...go back trough my videos amd you'll see me fit a box weld liner in my main pond. So easy, done in 10 minutes and no mess. Only down side is you pond has to be box shaped
Awww man I feel you pain I went through exactly the same thing with mine and again I did the same thing and went for the ms300 liquid liner as well I could do with a set of them caps I reckon with your pipe work and filters I'd say 1500l IM IN 🤞🤞🤞

I'm in, 1100ltrs. Glad you got it sealed mate1👍
I should have watched to the end before asking the question, glad you sorted it out 👍
6" in 4 days I think I would use that as a trickle in leak out water change excuse. Seriously I feel your frustration and pain.
That thought did cross my mind!😂
I’m in. I would say it’s about 1500 litres 👍 love the content mate, I’m just about to DIY fibre glass mine too 😢
Releath,,,, pleased for you sir,, cheers Terry,,
I’m in - 550 gallons? Just finished glassing my pond yesterday, starting to panic about filling it now 🤦🏼♂️
I'm pretty sure an extra layer of flow coat would have fixed my leak. Do not make the same mistake as me and use silicone!

I'm in 1350ltrs
Glad u managed to stop it leaking Josh 👌🏼👍🏼
When you seal the bottom drain to test it for leaks, did you fill the pond again with the drain covered to see if the pond dropped at all ?
So what was the cause of the issue? The lining or the drain?
I’m in. 1656 litres. Hope everything goes smoothly for you now mate.

Shame about the glassing but happy days on liquid liner 👌💪💪
hope it stays that way for you fella fingers crossed touch wood and all that
Would you suggest fibreglass or ms300 for the lining ?

I think I'd have put a flow coat on less mess 😂
That would annoy me. Get another tube and take it all the way to the top. In for a penny and all that.

Awww man I feel you pain I went through exactly the same thing with mine and again I did the same thing and went for the ms300 liquid liner as well
I could do with a set of them caps I reckon with your pipe work and filters I'd say 1500l IM IN 🤞🤞🤞
