Grocery stores used to give out those S&H green stamps. There were catalogs/stores with all sorts of merchandise, small appliances, dishes etc. that you could get just by redeeming the stamps.
My Mom saved S&H green stamps, she let us kids lick the stamps and put them in the books. She redeemed them for things for the house like dishes, lamps and the like. It was fun!
My older sisters got luggage sets from the stamp programs. They used them to go to college. I still have a makeup kit from one of those sets. It has to be almost 55 years old.
In the 60s gas stations were full service. In 1964 unpaid $.25.9 a gallon for gas. They washed windows and lights, checked the tire pressure and fluid levels. I feel for Ashley, when it is extremely cold or damp Wade's mother ,with Wade's always get so excited and she knows so much. I still feel sad for the renters who lose their storage units or the abandoned homes.
Those blue dishes were sold by Sears in the early 70's. I think they were called a Currier and Ives set. That was our first set of dishes when we got married.
Back in the '70s and 80s I had a big garden and I would can about 80 quarts of green beans. Then I would buy pears and tomatoes from Farmers and can those. I was so proud of my work and there was such great satisfaction that I would leave them out on the countertops for several days just to admire.
Ashley, those vintage bubble lights for the Christmas Trees are very sought after. I remember trying to find them back in the 80's cuz my husband wanted some for nostalgic reasons as he grew up with them. I never did find any.
Thank you Wade for giving your jacket to Ashley, that was very gentleman to do it. Ashley looked really cold! Great locker, I believe you'll get your money back out of it. Nostalgic but sad, to think that this person's belongings were probably all there. Collectors would love that old furniture! These are the best lockers, old and untouched for years!

If I hear the word "old" referring to only 25 years ago.. Much of that stuff is younger than my children. He is rambunctiously destroying things he could have sold.
Those are S&Hgreen stamps, you would get them when you bought groceries at Kroger or A&P, then could redeem them for household or gift items, either by a mailed order form or at a redemption center, these are from the late sixties or early 70s
H&S stamps were given to you as a customer for amount purchased and could be traded for different kinds of things. I have gotten sets of dinner wear, Pans and just all kinds of things. Just a way to get back. My Mom collected them when I was a kid and when I was a young married I still could get them and it was a nice little deal to get something special. Many stores and pharmacies gas stations had them. I collected them all. We are talking back in the early 50's into the 70's or later. Sometimes I let the kids have them to get something they wanted in the catalog.
This is an absolute gold mine. Thousands in just one drawer alone let alone all the vintage items you are finding still boxed up. Heck one Apple pin you found is $40-$50 on its own. Couldn't have happened to two better people! Congrats!
S&H Green stamps were given when you purchased groceries. You saved them and used them to buy anything from dishes to electronics. They were big in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Very collectible now.
That was a fun unit so far, sorry you didn't find any cash so far but you're not done yet. I had to chuckle at you two about those S&H stamps. but I am in my late 60's so I knew what they were. Ask Grandma V. she will have some stories for you about those stamps.

The things you show are from my adulthood. I can't watch you anymore, because I try to convince myself, I'm not OLD, yet in your videos, you say 'old' hundreds of times! Hundreds! I know the stuff is old, and I know I'm old... but historical, vintage, there are many words that mean old. History explains why people save the things you don't see reason for. Anyone who lived through a depression, having limits to sugar, stamps, straws, etc.saved what they could. the s&h green stamps were essential. you uncovered enough for a good housekeeping mattress and more.

Wade said that the women showed great interest the last time they sold some. It's cuz it's getting harder to get them from the store. Awesome! Love the mid-century lockers!! We had that Sunbeam mixer when I was a kid, it was awesome. I think you have more than 1K of furniture for sure! That one with the record player that pulls out is worth quite a bit I am sure. I have been shopping for vintage furniture and something like that seems like it would go for over 1k. I think the table w/extenders and the 2 chairs will go for a lot more than you think. The sled is amazing!!! Love this locker! Can't wait to see the rest. Great work. :)

Those banana boxes are very sturdy & collectible. My parents had those exact 1950s/60s end tables in the 1960s and the blue & white Currier & Ives dishes. They are collectible. If the unit is an average of $75 a month (average cost in 2005) for 17 years that is $66,000 dollars. The stamps books are grocery stamp books=$. They gave you stamps every time you bought at the grocery store. Once your book is full, you could get items or discounts on your next grocery bill. 1960s and 70s thing. The Brady Bunch had an episode where they saved up their grocery stamps to get their tv I believe. Red formica table and chairs is a good find. 1950s.$

That table and chairs is a easy thousand dollars . It's from the 50 to 60 s . Seen a red one sell In brand new condition for 2,500 with six chairs . Movie companies would also like it . I'd take it to my grave before I sold it for 400$ . But I do know you're more about the quick turnaround for the family which I definitely understand .
Dallasware is melmac our melamine dishes, they came out in the fifties and sixties. They're American made, near indestructible and very desirable to the mid century modern collectors today.

I've been following another "locker digger" for two years (You may know "Lockernuts") and spent months watching all of his episodes. Great work. :)
Yes I love the sled. That's the kind of sled I had as a kid in Germany in the 60's
Croquet.

@@judithmiles4426 Not sure what you are referring to on my comment?
Great unit guys, can’t wait to see what else you find. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍👏❤️
The unit was great. But is was so good to see you three! Can't wait for the next one❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are the messiest man , I feel sorry for your wife.
Yeah! Glad someone beside myself sees it. I would last about ten mins then I would be Gone.
Your opening things and not putting the lids back on even though there's no money in the tins! Plus your wife is freezing, and your yakking to much, just to hear yourself talk!
Get with the program and get the boxes open with some speed. I feel sorry for your wife, poor thing standing there freezing.......
Great unit! Can't wait to see the rest! Happy holidays guys!!
wow we used to have those Green Shield Stamps here in the UK in the 70's, I used to be the one to have the job of sticking the stamps in the books when my mum had been shopping. 😊
The rocks in the Native pouch as considered talsman. Each rock, mineral, or gem is considered blessed or good luck. Some peop!e would wear them around their necks, others would just carry it on them. Very good find!!
Ugh this guy. Wish he would run camera and his wife would open stuff
I love this channel, I like grandma she's such a nice person. I like the laughs you all have.❤
Those banana boxes are very sturdy & collectible.
My parents had those exact 1950s/60s end tables in the 1960s and the blue & white Currier & Ives dishes. They are collectible. My Mom got a dish with every bank deposit. When banks had incentives to get people to deposit their $. The whole set of dishes would be some $.
I can't believe they paid on unit for 17 years on it.
It's so good to see Ashley in front of the camera. I like to see you too. But she so pretty, and you are cute. Stay well my friends. Have missed you. Hi to grandma Ventures. Ll
Wow! great unit keep up the good work very interesting and relaxing Rosa in Texas❤
The Christmas lights with liquid are called bubble lights. We had them in 50’s and 60’s. I should think they would still be good.
Dallasware is melmac our melamine dishes, they came out in the fifties and sixties. They're American made, near indestructible and very desirable to the mid century modern collectors today.
Hey you two, I am brand new from Eastern Oregon. Love watching you guys
Hi, I am a French pensioner who lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand...
I found your channel recently...
I've been following another "locker digger" for two years (You may know "Lockernuts") and spent months watching all of his episodes. Then I tried to follow other diggers, but none made me want to watch more than 5 minutes of each video!
You are the first who I like the way you comment on your research with your two "assistants"!
I'm going to watch your past videos and I'm looking forward to the news...
I watch them and " What the hales "
Had to see you back waiting Ashley missed your videos I'm a die-hard number one fan I've been waiting for you to come back
Hi wade and Ashley I'moving this unit. Nice to see all the old stuff and the furniture x
So sad the way they’re handling these items. Thats someone’s life. 😞😔😔
Enjoy that unit. Merry Christmas to all of you. Hi gramma V.🎄🤶❤️
Merry Christmas Miss I hope you have a wonderful holiday season
I can’t believe you are so young that you don’t know what “Green Stamps” are! I am in my sixties and I used them to buy a new toaster and blender. That was just 30 years ago.
The planting /seed starter pots would be golden for me. Expanding our garden again this year.
"Ohhh--people love these" 16:00
furniture casters.
B-O-R-I-N-G!!!
Great unit guys can't wait for more hope you have a happy holidays he had a grandma ventures
Amazing to see a persons life all in one locker lots of memories, makes me wonder did they have children and why they didn’t want any of this stuff.
Just started watching! So much fun👍👍you guys are Great👍👍
You crochet (CROW-SHAY) yarn and you play croquet (CROW-KAY). Younger people going through this stuff need a Sr. Citizen to prompt them when they don't know things. LOTS of goodies in this unit!
❤❤❤❤❤Thank you for sharing your video with us and have a great evening!
You got "around to it"!! The little round item that had the letters tuit. When people say I'll do it when I get around to it, you give them that.
Thanks!
The way he opens everything up then doesn’t even put the tops back on anything is killing me, it only makes it much harder to clean up
The S & H Green stamps were faithfully collected in the 60's. You looked in a catalog to redeem the stamps for items. The stamps were given at grocery stores and such. It was always fun to put the stamps in the books. You keep looking for money but you have money in all these wonderful things you have found.
