Nice job, great looking. Looks like you have a thriving business. I’m getting back into after a 40 year hiatus. I raised them as a teen in a tiny town in Michigan. Now, I’m in South Florida. Mostly doing it for my own use and to Freeze Dry some meet. Should go great with my food Forest.
I absolutely fell in love with the work you have done with your rabbitry. If in the future you have need to dispose some battery cages.. Send it my way. I live in Lagos Nigeria.
Oh my, what an operation! Love your comments on fresh air and winter wind. I’m in central NC where we get 4 seasons tho our winters are quite mild. I have my rabbits in metal cages and hang those inside a predator-proof, covered chicken run. Summer is long, hot and humid so the rabbits need all the shade and ventilation I can give them. Thanks for that great tour! ❤🐇

Could you go into more detail on your heated bowls? I am also in southern Ontario and am thinking of setting up a backyard rabbitry but the issue with water freezing in winter is the major thing holding me back.
Start out with just a few rabbits and use metal bowls. Have a second set and just swap them morning and night when it freezes. For most people this works quite well. Commercial rabbitries don't use bowls and heat the building or heat the water lines. I use bowls because you can monitor the rabbits better by how much they are drinking. Breeders who show rabbits, find this to be important My heated bowl system is too complicated to discuss in this forum. When you get rabbits, join the Dominion Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association and you can contact me through their membership list. We can discuss further at that time. All the best.
Home Depot used to carry it but I'm not sure they still do. They come in 4'x8' sheets. Try different construction suppliers. It's often used in medical and butcher shops where the walls need to be sanitized often.
No. In all the years never. Many of the cages have always been inside but the outside are always surrounded by a fence. Racoons have bothered (rattled) them but never hurt any.
Most of the country has been dealing with RHVD2. If these rabbits were kept outdoors on the ground, they would die a painful death from a disease that only take 3 days to show up and kill your entire stock. Not to mention other diseases, territorial fighting, predators, and accidental escape. But also numerous studies show rabbits prefer small spaces because they are burrowing animals. Their stress levels (measured by adrenal cortisol) are double or more in larger open spaces.
Fantastic in scale and design. Best Rabbitry I've ever seen.
💯 Agree!

Lovely layout...what's your mortality rate???
very very low!
How do you fold the corners of cage doors over this this? Just using pliers?
Where did you get your frp dividers?

Wow 🤩
Where does the waste go in the tube after scraping the tray?
Outside into a field! Couple of times in the year I would use a tractor to scoop it up and use it for fertilizer in the garden.
Biden outlawed those bulbs
Okay?💀💀💀💀
Omg I have 10 bunnys
Are selling the cages
Your bran amazing when you see Bill i Will take egg carton thanks
Do you butcher all the rabbits when they get butchering age?
No. Many are used as breeding stock.
Where are you from
Ontario

😎🍿😳

Do you make money from this?
Nope.
Haha same I just have them as pets and love them so much... I'm interested in the California breed if you have any for sale please
Very nice. Next time no music. You do a fine job without it.
Thanks.
Have you had any predator issues?
No. In all the years never. Many of the cages have always been inside but the outside are always surrounded by a fence. Racoons have bothered (rattled) them but never hurt any.
Free range them please , small spaces are stressful
So are parasites, disease, coccidiosis, fighting, injury, , and dog and predator attacks.

Thank you. I see it the same way!

I agree but it's a learning curve and hope to get better at it. Thanks for your feedback.
