@@Spiderdude93 it's because the GBA was notorious for having a sound chip that was absolutely terrible for music. You COULD make good stuff with it, no doubt, but making poor, garbled sound was more common at the time. The DS has a notably superior sound system, so the DS is the clarinet here, while the paper is the GBA.
I like both renditions though, they're both great
@@TheRealBlazingDiamond The GBA was also terrible at doing low tones--as in, the speakers would literally BURST INTO FLAMES if you tried to do them, as Rare found out when trying to port DKC2 and DKC3 to the GBA--so music on the GBA tended to rely a LOT on high pitched, shrill sounds instead, which didn't help with its reputation of sounding lousy.
So glad people are still making and watching mega man content. The legacy collection have put mega man back in peoples minds, I love it :)

the only problem i have with all cannonball remixes is the exclusion of the piano part. The piano gives so much emotion to the overall battle, i enjoy how ZX gives an entire new energy by using an organ.
I forgot how it sounded in ZX until now, but it does make sense to me now that I think about it. In ZX he's less of a pivotal character moment and more of a revived horror from the distant past, so I guess the organ adds to the greater sense of mystery surrounding him there.

dunno if it's a controversial take but, i prefer the gba soundfont version over the mythos ver. because it goes for a melancholic piano instead of epic guitar sounds.
Honestly I can agree with that. The guitars are awesome but for some reason the piano is the instrument that goes the hardest in every type of media.
I am disappointed that basically every remix leaves out the piano.
I enjoy all versions but the melancholic piano is perfect for what that battle stood for. "My body may be a shadow of what I once was. It may be a copy but in the end, there is only one Zero. Me."

Mega Man music is just amazing.
It's not about whether you have better technology or not to pull it off (eg. more instruments than on the gba) but what you do with them.
A perfect example is pokemon. Every single game has you explore 1 region; except one. Gen 2 let you explore 2 full regions and it was on the freaking gameboy color. A feat no other pokemon game has ever managed, even with digital dlc being a thing. 2 regions, 16 badges, the elite four twice and a champion from a prior game all in 1 game. Something fans have been wanting and still want to this day and yet never got.
Or to elaborate. No matter how limited your system may be, you can still shine brighter than anything else.
Well it’s not that I dislike the zx cannonball, but the gba version with the piano feels like it has so much emotion and heart put into it. Like it gives this feeling of “ this is the final battle.”
The zx version has a more electronic vibe to it while also feeling kinda ghostly feeling and somewhat paranormal feeling to it, because of course, you’re fighting a data version of omega in cyberspace which is technically a reploid data graveyard. And it does make sense for it to feel electronic because it’s in cyberspace and ghostly because technically this isn’t omega but just data.
But I would be lying if i said that the GBA version isn’t better because the piano really adds that sense of finality and also has a somewhat sad feeling to it because of the twist of knowing you were never playing as the original zero but simply a copy of him.

ZX is not bad, it works. It's not like it's the final boss, it's an optional boss.
Cannon Ball is like One-Winged Angel if you think about it. The Mythos version of Cannon Ball is equivalent to the Advent Children of One-Winged Angel in terms of style and delivery. ff7 remake is ZX, and the original is the original.

actually, you can! Although some context might be missing, megaman zx can be played without having to play the other megaman games since it does a good job at explaining the setting and the only thing you need to know is that megaman and zero were once legendary reploids that now live on through the biometals. It's is own thing since zx happens like after the conclusion of everything else so think of it as it's own game

Zero doesn't deserve to be forgotten. His games are genuinely that awesome.
I do was a Megaman X fan more than anything else (even if I was playing Starforce at that time and got me hooked by the gameplay, still preferred the X series)but, once I started with the Zero series I just love it. It was so much that once I finished them I got right to ZX and ZXA, yet Zero is indeed my favorite to play at any time (I'm trying to get on BN on a real GBA now but I still looking to get the full Zero series. I own a Z2 cartridge for the moment)
Just played it these past few day because I just found out about it and "chef's kiss" its a masterpiece game for me

The Zero and ZX series has always been my favorite. I remember when I was little getting my first video game console (The Nintendo DSi XL) and my very first game, MegaMan ZX. I remember not knowing at the time that pressing up let's you go through doors so I kept (somehow joyfully) playing through the beginning of the game over again thinking that was how long video games normally are. That was until I accidentally pressed up on the door. The feeling I got when Vent went through the door was the equivalent of going to sleep in the present day and waking up in the early 2000's _💀_. Nowadays I'm more of a Sonic and Dragon Ball type of guy, but the MegaMan Zero/ZX series will always have a special place in my heart.
I don't blame you. My native language is spanish And when I was a kid I did not know where to go in ZX due to a language barrier and not knowing what the characters were saying so for an entire month I got lost but I still played it and sometimes resetting the game just to do the tutorial boss again also thinking that's the end of the story. Somehow I managed to beat it but It wasn't until I was on my 20's that I replayed it and Actually understood the story
