Chester Christmas Market, UK, is small, but perfectly formed and has been named by The Times, as the 6th best Christmas Market in the UK and let us show you in this food tour and food review.
We don't want to give away our results of what we thought was the best Christmas food at the Chester Christmas Market, but we do include food from, The Sunrise Patisserie, Bar Humbug, Altieri, Alex's, The Great British Cheese Co, and more.

While walking round Chester Christmas Market, we also bumped in to a couple of subscribers, Bill and Sam. It was great to be able to stop and chat with them for a while, while enjoying our warm mulled wine.
As always at the end of our videos, we have a sum up of the day, but in this Christmas vlog, we continue the Christmas food review at home in front of the Christmas tree, as we try out more foods that we bought at Chester Christmas market.

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint UA-cam channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. Hi both, we have just been to Liverpool markets today and on our way home now, you're lucky living close to Chester and Liverpool as we don't have any local Christmas markets this end of North Wales! We didn't film though just to visit. Good to see Chester, we plan to visit these. It looked great, loved the look of the hot dog and hot chocolate and it all looked so Christmassy there. Chester is fabulous. Glad to see this before we go :) ~ Anna 👍

This will forever be known as the one where Rach and Wills stuff their faces. Nice one. Chester looks pretty good too. I love a good souva - or giros. Some souva here come with chips inside too. Just before I watched this I had sausage sangers for dinner. I pulled traditional beef and aldi german sausages out of the fridge and flipped a coin. Traditional beef won. That means German sausage sangers for lunch tomorrow. What I won't be having for lunch is pasteis de nata. I LOVE a good Portuguese tart. I love a good custard pie too. One of our favourite things in Portugal were pasteis de nata. Haven't had a good one since. There is a Portuguese tart shop in Sydney that is as good as Lisbon but we rarely get to Sydney these days too. When you do your next 24 Hour trip to Lisbon drop in to Belem and pick up a few pasteis de belem. They are sensational. Or you could go to any pastry shop in Lisbon and get something amazing.
Now I feel like something sweet. In keeping with the Greek theme, I shall have some halvah. I only just discovered it and it is my new favourite thing.

Oh well you started off well. Mulled wine and Baileys. Oh yum! The salted pretzel bun looks delicious. I'd have the gherkin too though. Oh you ARE famous. Of course you are. Rachel that looks delicious. Halloumi is delicious. Chester looks a lovely town to wander around in. Gorgeous buildings. German sausages are best I agree. Greek food- top of the line. We can't buy pork pies like that here- I have to make them. Love the cities all lit up this time of year. A very international menu guys. I'm not a sweet tooth though a piece of toffee or caramel would be yum to finalise the meal. HAven't had a delicious pasta de Nata since Portugal. Lucky you. I’d just like to say I went Hot Chocolate no Baileys as I was the driver!! We’re glad you enjoyed our tour. Were usually savoury lovers but those pastei de Nata were incredible. Shame about the temperature on the sausage! We are huge fans of doner meat, probably our favourite take away purchase, but the quality really varies from place to place. We bought some lovely expensive Red Devil Cheese from the Xmas Market yesterday for Xmas Day, ended up eating it all last night, it was delicious! 😂 mmm pork and apple pie, delicious. Not sure about the cheesy one! Great reviews guys ❤

A great start - a cup of steaming mulled wine and a whipped cream and chocolate Bailey's concoction! Yum and Yum!! Lots of delicious treats to choose from. Hey, a small market in Europe will always beat whatever they have to offer in Florida. Mulled wine and hot chocolate is all we need for happiness lol. Halloumi cheese is so yummy.

We have friends that live in Chester. We live just outside Congleton, so I guess you are reasonably local to us. Another great video.
We’re just outside Mold in North Wales so Chester is our nearest city really (we don’t often go though!). We venture out Congleton way sometimes - it’s pretty out there. Cheers for watching 🍻

Aaah that's really good to know about how Chester market is rated, as we've not been there for a few years and can tie it in with a visit to my mother in Fleetwood!! That bap sounds awesome Wills.
It’s small and won’t take you long to go around, but it is lovely and surprisingly quiet (well weekdays it is for sure!). Yes it would be a good stop on the way to fleetwood! We went to Christmas by the sea in Blackpool yesterday. It’s been quite the day turning a video around in 1 day! Cheers for watching 🍻

Oh, friends, I love Christmas markets and their unique atmosphere! And I have to say that this one from Chester is truly beautiful. And Chester looks an amazing city too! The watch is beautiful as well as the architecture of buildings!. No wonder it's the second most photographed in the UK!

Give us a Christmas market in Germany or Austria and day of the week, but for the U.K. this one was pretty good. Work has been so mental that we’ve not really had time to get in the Christmas spirit. Beautiful city and it does look pretty with the Christmas lights. I think it's a plus that the market isn't huge with crowds of people as that makes it more enjoyable and relaxing. A crowded, heaving market isn't my idea of delightful!

Ahhh Chester - I will be visiting this market sometime in the week, or maybe on my lunch break tomorrow!! Last year I went round the alcohol stalls and got tipsy on free samples 😂

The markets were just too busy for us.
We do enjoy Chester and its market is nicely positioned and colourful. My only complaint is the pricing of foods and the mulled wine. We have a biggish market locally in Nottingham but there prices go to another level. We visited that new food court while we were in Chester and also watched Napoleon at the cinema in the Library complex. The food looked fine but as we were leaving for the German markets the following week we were saving some of the pennies. We like to have a night at the Holiday Inn Express by the racecourse from time to time especially when the market adds so much interest. I will try to catch up a bit on what we have been missing in what has been a very full year. Have a great New Year. Ivor & Robert

Okay, so we definitely shouldn't have watched this one hungry! 😂. We blame you two for the takeaway that got ordered straight after viewing this 😂🙈 😋. The food looked amazing! I'm with you guys on the Portuguese tarts! I had my first one of these while visiting York recently from a little bakery selling coffees and pastries through a little hatch onto the street, omg they are amazing! Think it's the thin pastry and almost confectionery custard combined, delicious 😋👌. Salted beef and Gyros looked divine too! We haven't ventured to Chester markets before, they look really cute and much more up our street. I'm with you on the Manchester markets Rach, find them way too busy and overbearing, also since the square outside the town hall isn't used the y have also been a bit disjointed. Anyway, Chester it is next year! Great vlog guys, enjoyed it, and enjoyed our big fat takeaway afterwards too 😂👌

Sorry for making you hungry and the subsequent takeaway!! We were going to go to York next week. But once again work has stopped us! Those Portuguese pastries are something else and we have vowed the next one we eat will be in Portugal!! We’ve not been to the Liverpool markets this year, are they busy? Ah shame about the York trip being cancelled, you guys would absolute love York, and it would make a fantastic vlog, there is so much to do there ❤. Liverpool markets can be busy particularly at weekends, but of a weekday / evening they aren't too bad, definitely less busy than Manchester either way, but then they are smaller too.
