Love this theme - sounds very FF13-esque, which had excellent music!

This song in particular gives me heavy XIII vibes, and I love it.

Funny considering Mizuta is a co-composer for 13-2 and Lightning Returns

WOW that music. I've been telling people for years - pretty much since I started looking up info on the game's music back when CoP launched, that Naoshi Mizuta is right near Nobuo's level. He's not quite there I don't think, but the guy's definitely got major talent. God DAMN I miss Vana'diel... Hydaelen is OK, but it's just not the same not even close. The 2 games are very different styles, and I really miss 11's complexities, superior job system and horizontal progression. It has much more of a looter/collector feel to it, because everything matters in some way whereas in 14 it's just your standard vertical progression going from patch to patch, with all that hard-earned gear being reduced to glamor/desytnesis fodder... it's why I can't get into end game seriously anymore.

I know exactly how you feel as a Runescape player lol. I love the plot, music and characters in XIV, especially after Endwalker, but its really lacking in atmosphere and gameplay compared to XI and other old MMOs. The vertical gear progression is hella boring, there's never any real sidegrade gear. I can see why they do it, but I never liked it. That's why I just do endgame content to clear it, the gear grind feels pointless unless its a glamour item I want.

This theme works extremely well with the chaos of an alliance doing Omen and arguing about drops and throwing jokes at each other in party chat

You missed out then on maybe the greatest MMO of all time (my opinion). 11 had a lot of flaws, but it was something truly special back in its hay day. Sadly I don't think SE will ever recapture that magic, certainly not with Tanaka san gone from the company. FF14 is good, but it's just not the same kind of MMO at all.

Omen card farming is surprisingly chill. I got all worried I'd fail and I did but after a few tries I do okay. It fun, like Bozja.

I don't play any type of game like final fantasy. My buddy is playing it right now, and I'm really liking the theatrical progressive smooth jazz fusion esque sound. Not really sure how to explain it. I do enjoy music similar to it in certain ways. Phish, Steely Dan, Bela Fleck... I can't get into the game much though. Really good theme though (especially since he's been on this level for QUITE awhile).
