For eg if I finish my row with just double crochets instead of the front post and back post DCs then I have to go up one row right n do a slip stitch after that dc and 3 chain then how many dcs to leave n do the next??

Oh my! Well there’s the reason why it turned out big. I used a 3.5mm hook with #3 yarn. Remember that if you want something to turn out about the same size shown on a crochet video you have to use the same size hook and yarn weight otherwise you’ll have this problem. Bigger hook + thicker yarn equals bigger size and vise versa. Sorry this happened but now you know what to do 😉

I have followed the tutorial exactly and have 73 stitches but it seems way too big for a baby. I don't understand??
Tension varies so use a smaller hook instead.
