What struck me was his consideration for the perp. While protecting himself from all possible elements from harm, no one was injured and one 21 year old man learned his lesson. A true martial arts practitioner, this man put a positive light on the true essence of balance between attack and protect.

The display of control this man had through this ordeal displays 2 great aspects.
1, the discipline to control someone in a heightend adrenalin state, and to reposition someone to prevent being injured in a real life scenario
2, the discipline and control to not injure or disable someone any more than you need to while being in such a highly adrenaline state.

I have Muscular Dystrophy and now full time in a wheelchair. Being this vulnerable is very scary. I get anxiety being in public but also alone. I feel better when I am in family gatherings. I am saying this because if anyone is thinking about training a martial art DO NOT HESITATE. I would if I could, and if you are healthy, go for it. You can actually save your own life, your loved ones or someone like me.
