When Indian team played against Fulham fc in a friendly , their coach Jean tigana (former french international) was impressed by vijayan's game and picked him as the best player n added that he was capable of playing in england when journalist asked about bhutiya's game(bhutiya was playing for bury then).....if that old vijayan in his last year's in Indian jersey can impress tigana( who played with legands and coached great players) then imagine what vijayan was in his prime years... A true legand..a lot of bhutiya's goals was the brilliance for vijayan.. for jct and Indian team they combined wonderfully well..

Once upon a time there was a football team called Kerala police. They had vijayan, sathiyan, pappachan and Jo Paul anchery. And we kids used to root for them during Santosh trophy. I remember for us keralites, the villian then were called Punjab, Goa and services. I didn't even know what services were at that time.
Jeo Paul ancheri not In Kerala Police, he is in SBT, Services is not a strong team at that time. West Bengal,Goa,Maharashtra and Punjab are strong teams of that time
They played in Kolkata league and were popular players there too.
I remember a few finals clearly: in 1991, Kerala was beaten by Bengal; in 1992 and 1993, Kerala emerged as the champions. But I will never forget the 1994 final between Kerala and Bengal. Due to a rule at the time, I.M. Vijayan, who was part of Mohun Bagan, had to play for Bengal. Kerala lost that match 2-0, and Vijayan himself scored in that game.
You missed Bengal. They are the king of Santhosh trophy.
I remember the day govt announced school holiday when Kerala won Santosh Trophy defeating Maharashtra....those were golden days of Kerala football and Santosh trophy

He played for several indian clubs including Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, two of India's famous football teams. Played for indian national team and scored a goal in 12 seconds after the kick off against Bhutan.
In the video most of his club performances are from his time with JCT Mills ( green/ white jersey) , a club based in Phagwara ,Punjab . The club as of now is disbanded I believe although I'm not sure .
