Saw this in the theater in NYC (59th and 3rd) at 14. Packed house. The atmosphere in that theater can never be topped. When the door lifts up and she delivers that iconic line, the entire crowd went berserk. Cheering, cursing, pumping fists in the air…was just incredible. Will never forget it. Great reaction 😊 👍🏼
Similar deal. Packed house in Cleveland on opening night. Crowd was already well lubricated from the jump, they cheered, swore and were into it the whole way. Huge cheer when Burke got his. Took the roof off the place at that iconic line. Whole movie was like being at a football game. Best movie experience I ever had.
The actor Paul Reiser who played Burke brought his mother to the premier of the movie and she cheered when Burke died. LOL You know you are a good actor when your own mom cheers your death on screen.
love Reiser in Stranger Things, a sort of opposite role of bad guy turning better as opposed to in this not so good guy turning much worse lol I'll But yep that's great that his mom cheered his character's death scene!
@@watchreadplayretro The thing that makes Burke such a good antagonist is how relatable he's written. He's not inherently evil. He's no evil mastermind he's an self absorbed asshole. A corporate guy. We can relate because those guys are always the root of evil in the real world. Selfish, egomanic, greedy assholes ruining the day since ever.
If only... See, that's the issue with the third installment. Though inferior, it is not "bad" by any means, but the cheap suckerpunch you receive within minutes its enough to fuel the hate towards that movie still even today.
Really Appreciate that, thank you. Might sound egotistical to some but we will never change for clicks. We are still learning and trying to grow the channel but we want to do it in the right way! We’re just having fun which is the main thing😃
Often, a theater will run a classic movie series with "Alien" & "Aliens" as a double-feature. To all movie fans, be sure to jump at the chance. Both movies are incredible on the big screen.
Definitely bookmarking and subscribing. Just a bit of trivia for you, in one of the deleted scenes, just before Ripley finds the locator she gave to Newt, Ripley comes across Burke who is cocooned and he has an alien inside him. Burke begs Ripley to help him but instead, she says nothing and shows mercy... by giving him a grenade to use on himself.
Man, I really love seeing people have such a good time discovering these two films for their first time! It brings all the excitement right back to me, having enjoyed them all through the years. Thanks for sharing these, and I hope you continue to have fun discovering new stuff together! Sidenote: I _really_ love that we got two outstanding characters and honestly, role models of character in Ripley and Hicks. She's as tender with Newt as she is a leader with personal initiative with or without the troops. And Hicks is the same! Strong in the face of crisis, while mindful and attentive in the quiet moments as well. Ripley was always capable and competent, and Hicks always backed that up, never once got in the way of it. MAJOR shoutout to the writing and direction for setting the framework for that, and especially to Sigourney Weaver for being one of the legendary leads of the era, and major shoutout to Michael Beihn for bringing those aforementioned qualities to the table both in "Hicks", and in "Kyle Reese" in Terminator. Dude is proper ride or die for the leading women.
Wise Choice with the Extended Edition 🫡 Fun Fact: Xenomorph encounter math is NOT a 1:1 ratio of Eggs/Facehuggers to Hosts/Drones. Each normal (Non Queen) Facehugger implants Multiple chestburster eggs that will usually cannibalize each other if not presenting in a host with sufficient body mass. You can actually reach a yeild of about 1 viable chestburster per 50kg of host biomass. (This is also why they ignore the cat Jones... Too Small) This means that you can get 2-3 (or more) chestbursters out of larger host creatures, even humans. This can result in exponentially larger Xenomorph outbreaks than a given infected population would presume, much to the chagrin of combat planners.
The first Alien is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. Aliens is an action/thriller. They're different types of movies and equally great in different ways. I will always love the first Alien because it's a beautiful piece of Art.
I always loved how they showed the space age and the self conscious computer in Alien with monochrome monitors running on probably 32 - 128 kB of RAM.. :D That movie was made 45 years ago and already 10 years passed since the Moonlanding. How different these movies would have been if they were made today... Probably a lot worse.
The thing to remember is that each Alien film is a genre view of the original Dan O'Bannon idea. The first is horror, the second action, etc. Hence there is no "bad" Alien movie, just a different view.
@@moog67 It was an extremely high bar to clear. Like Terminator 2, Empire Strikes Back, The Lord on the Rigns Trilogy... How do you follow that up? They're genre defining movies that we still love literally 4+ decades later.
Although it's an out and out actioner, the theme is motherhood. Ripley loses and gains a "daughter" and the Queen is protecting and then avenging her children. Great movie. Great reaction. More please.
Great reactions and expressions and insights from you both! And good to see you turned the lights down for Aliens. They're meant to be seen in the dark. Alien and Aliens are amazing, so I would caution you on watching any further. After this it is a very sharp drop in quality (and enjoyment!) if you go any further, if you haven't already. Maybe try a different series, perhaps the first couple of Terminator films if you want more James Cameron.
Jenette Goldstein(Vasquez) is in "Terminator2" and "Near Dark," also. "Near Dark" also has Lance Henricksen(Bishop) and Bill Paxton(Hudson). Michael Biehn(Hicks), Lance Henricksen(Bishop), and Bill Paxton(Hudson) are all in "The Terminator."
You two really know how to pace a reaction. Ian's comments throughout so often mirrored MY thoughts WAY back when I saw it during it's theatrical release. And, I must say, I do believe this is the first time I have seen Steph make a snarly face. It was when Burke was shutting doors on everyone else to save himself. Great reaction!
Hicks is played by Michael Biehn who plays Kyle Reece in the first Terminator movie. Bill Paxton is one of my favorite actors, he's the character in this movie who was the unwilling participant in the hand knife game with Bishop.
Hicks was actually played by another actor, originally. That actor was caught doing drugs on the set, so they had to fire him. Cameron had worked with Biehn in Terminator, as you said, so he called to bring him in as a replacement. There are one or two group action scenes where you might see a marine you don't recognize from the group. That was the original Hicks. They couldn't afford to re-shoot the scenes, so he was left in.
It's so dope that Bill Paxton, Michael Beihn, AND Jenette Goldstein got to be in the prime era of the Aliens and Terminator franchise. And shoutout to Bill Paxton for sneaking in a Predator appearance as well 😎 Love that man. RIP to a real good one.
I believe when the actor playing Burke watched the film with his mother everyone including his mum stood up when he got nailed by the Xeno, what an honour.... This is my 2nd favourite sci fi film after Terminator 2, so good, so good....
Its very hard to produce a sequel as well as the first, highly successful film, BUT they sure pulled it off here. Other great sequels are T2, Deadpool,Avengers,Jack Reacher, wrath of khan, top gun maverick, winter soldier, devil’s rejects, the dark knight, and many more. 👍🏻
I was Active Duty, stationed at Camp Lejeune N.C. when this movie hit the theaters. As a 'WM' (Woman Marine), I and another Marine caught a Fri. night showing, and to say we were impressed is a *HUGE* understatement! Absolutely *THE BEST SEQUEL* of all time! Thanks for taking us along with you as you get to enjoy this!
The thing about the Xenomorph in Alien was that the crew did not dare try to kill it by shooting it, cuting off a limb or stabbing as it has acid for blood (proven when they attempted to cut The Facehugger's limbs, it bled acid which were corrossive enough to eat through three levels in the space ship). If they did try to kill it in anyway that it'd lose blood, the acid could have made holes that'd suck the air out of the Nostromo and therefore die from suffocation, that's why guns and sharp weapons were out of the question.
10:37 my oh my. First time I've ever seen someone make that connection: "I could never harm a human being" with him putting his hand to prevent from hurting with the knife. Clever, very clever. :-)
I really get a kick out of people watching some of the movies I grew up watching as a teen such as The Godfather, Aliens, Star Wars, Jaws, Stephen King movies etc. Some of these movies were before we were able to record shows, before the internet(we had to buy a newspaper to know what movies were playing locally), before home computers etc and they were bangers. ;D There were some Phenomenal directors in the 70s and 80s.
James Cameron’s best movie in my opinion and one of the best movies ever made. Saw it at the cinema back in 1986 and I envy anybody watching this for the first time.
I heard the loader exoskeleton robotic suit was actually so dope and well done that several construction companies contacted the film studio asking where they can buy them. :D
I recommend the South Korean film "Train to Busan", regarded as one of the best zombie films; even skeptical zombie movie connoisseurs love it. It has multiple character development, social commentary, continuously suspenseful, and has an excellent performance by a child actor.
I was too young to watch the first movie in the cinema (I was a kid), and back then it wasn't that easy to have a video where I lived. So I went to watch this one when I was sixteen or seventeen not knowing too much about what the story was about.... and OH MAN what an experience it was. It blew my mind. I've rewatched the movie dozens of times, and even if I know by heart what is gonna happen, my heart still pumps like crazy all the time.
This movie influenced everything: Halo, Gears, WH40k, every military and sci-fi movie that came afterwards, Michael bay’s entire career.. Great reaction!
It is rather unlikely that there was no contact with the colony while the colonists had time to study the crawlers, yet they did not call for help? It is more likely that the company knew of the situation, heard Ripley's report and then sent this select group of hrired guns for the sole purpose of breeding. They are physically fit, but frankly (with the exception of Hicks and a few of the early kills) not very smart. They are undisciplined, rowdy, show reckless behaviour and probably have a history of insubordination attached to their personel files that qualifies for promotion to the frontline. And they got the most insecure and inexperienced commander who everybody hates. Of course they wanted Ripley to join, her being the only witness left. Maybe in the end they would have even gotten rid of their inside man Burke and destroyed Bishop who does not have many rights anyway.
I was 15 when this came out and absolutely loved it. Such an amazing film. James Cameron has made some great movies, but it his earlier films that came out in my teens and early twenties that are my favorite. The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, T-2. I love those movies. And Titanic is amazing. I have always been quite taken with the story of Titanic, especially after having served in the U.S. Navy and learned much about ships. I still miss being out in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight. At night, when the skies are clear, the view is breathtaking. Back to Aliens, I love the characters, the music composed by the late James Horner(who also did Titanic). After Ripley and Newt, Corporal Hicks is my favorite character. He had a level head and I loved how he was on Ripley's side from the start. Vasquez was a real badass. Jenette Goldstein, who played Vasquez, was also in T-2 and Titanic. In Titanic, she played an Irish woman with two children riding in steerage. And the late Bill Paxton as Hudson was great. The day Bill Paxton died was a sad day. He was an awesome actor. He had a lot of roles in movies that came out during my early teens.
Love the reactions. Just watched the one for Alien, then came straight to this one. In my book Ellen Ripley is not only the greatest female protagonist in film history, but arguably just the greatest protagonist period. I know a lot of people love Sarah Connor, and so do I, but Ripley is in a whole other class.
40:00 We were all devastated when they got Hudson :( I always imagined him escaping capture somehow. Wishing that Ripley could have found him whilst searching for Newt, then they all could have escaped together.
I saw Aliens before Alien. I remember my mum said she watched Alien many years before the sequel and she loved that (we had similar tastes). I TOTALLY love Aliens and I still think it is the BEST of all the franchise to this day.
I just realized watching your viewing of it, the aliens probably wouldn't have attacked again so quickly had Burke not set the facehuggers up to get Ripley and Newt. Playing Alien: Isolation, the big ones do not like having the face huggers flamed or killed.
You have been watching sci-go and I have really loved watching your reactions videos. A movie trilogy that I think the both of you will enjoy is the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy. The telling of how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman makes it a in order watch requirement. Much like how the Aliens saga where the second was better than the first….. same with Batman. The third of the Batman movies throws you some real shocks…. but the second is outstanding. The movies are…… Batman Begins, then The Dark Knight, and finally Batman Returns. The Dark Knight won Heath Ledger a posthumous award for his acting. Christian Bale plays a phenomenal new take on Batman that in no way is the campy 60’s or 80’s type. In this telling, they go for a much more gritty, down to earth telling of the story. I would not normally have envisioned Gary Oldman as commissioner Gordon, especially after seeing him in Lost in Space or 5th Element, but he pulls it off well. I don’t think I’ve seen Micheal Cane in a bad roll. This time he plays the part of Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce’s butler and rounding out the cast we have Morgan Freeman as Bruce’s tech advisor Lucious Fox…… it is an incredible new telling of the series that I think you both will enjoy. Good watching and hope to see you comment on that series….. but mostly, have fun
Honestly would love to watch them, but as a huge Batman fan…we have seen them! maybe we could do a rewatch on the channel at some point if people wanted it!
13:00 she was in TITANIC. She was the woman with kids and telling them they will be next after the first class passengers were on the boats, and the little, girl smiled and shook her head.
I saw ALIENS in 1986 in long gone Odeon in Warrington. It was an old theater with three tiers of balcony's that held a thousand people. Watching ALIENS with such a big audience was amazing. The cinema rumbled when the audience erupted in laughter and screams. It was an experience I'll never forget. You'll both love *ALIEN: ROMULOUS* too. *"Face Hugger's"* (spider aliens) galore in that one Liam 🤣 I met the sleeze ball bad guy Burke aka *PAUL REISER* in the early 1990's in a sandwhich deli in Liverpool of all places. He's a great guy, really friendly and down to earth.
Ah nice! In Liverpool of all places as well! What was he doing there!? (If you know?). Nice that he’s a good guy though! We watched Romulus yesterday! I wish they would stop putting those things in these movies!!! They are nightmare fuel! Hate them😂 something about them creeps me the hell out!
@@Reactsandgames I totally agree. ANYTHING that resembles a BIG SPIDER is never gonna sit well with me 🤣 Paul Reiser was making a film which I believe stars Julie Walters. Its called STRANGE RELATIONS in the USA and MY BEAUTIFUL SON in the UK. I've yet to see it though.
27:20 "RUN!" the crashing ship is rear-projected on a motion picture screen behind the actors. And you can tell, if you know what you're looking at. A 50 year old technique (at least) by the time Aliens was made, and completely effective to audiences of 1986 (and I would say, still). You lose a generation of contrast and sharpness doing it that way, but you would also have that problem doing it using the bluescreen techniques of the time, too, plus fringes around the actors. If it ain't broke.... But that's a Gen-Xer talking. I'm just glad young people can see past the janky effects to thrill to the underlying story, which is a pretty good one. I think that still, today, it's a pretty good looking movie.
Another great thing I love about reaction videos are the fan comments. I learn something new every time. This time it was that the actress for Vasquez also played the Stepmom of John Connor in Terminator II. I never made that connection. Her acting was so good, I didn’t recognize her.
So when Ripley is on the elevator and the announcement is made that there are 15 minutes till detonation, that sequence was edited in real time so 15 minutes does actually go by.
I really enjoy you two. You're awesome and seem like good good people. Don't ever change. Keep on reacting! S/N : You all should watch the movie 'Cujo' if you haven't already! A true horror classic!
Al Matthews, who played Gunnery Sergeant Apone the platoon sergeant was a real-life US Marine who served in Vietnam and was awarded The Purple Heart twice for being wounded in combat. Rest in peace. 🇺🇸 🥃 🕯️
I saw this July 1986 the night it was released at what used to be showcase cinemas in the States at only 5 years old.... And MAN THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!
Lance Henrikson (Bishop) "I didn't even cut a hole in [his finger] Bill Paxton (Hudson), and he was acting like I stabbed him with an ice pick! It was pretty funny actually. ... I felt bad about it ... but not really." Beyond providing a memorable moment, the knife trick scene acts as important character set-up early in Aliens.
As for your question in the first movie regarding the sequels, here's a bit of information: - Alien - Aliens (sequel to Alien, often considered just as good/better as the original) - Alien 3 (sequel to Aliens, not so positively perceived, but it does a good job in wrapping up the trilogy) - Alien: Ressurrection (sequel to Alien 3, but more of a fanfiction movie than an alien movie. Still entertaining, but it feels like a different kind of movie than the first three) - Prometheus (prequel to Alien, delving more into the lore of the alien species) - Covenant (sequel to Prometheus) - Romulus (sequel to Covenant) The spider-things have been called "Facehuggers" by the way. They never call them that in the movies, but the fanbase does.
Romulus is a sequel to ALIEN. It’s less than 20 years after. It’s after ALIEN and before ALIENS. Ripley is in the movie. The shuttle is on the space station. You can see it in 2 scenes.
@@lustrazor44 How can Ripley be in a movie based 20 years after Alien when she's been floating around in space for 57 years when they find her in Aliens?
I just want to appreciate that you gave the objective list without all of the usual gatekeeping nerdlord attitude. Every single movie is a solid popcorn eater, and that's all we really need when we kick back on the couch, you know?
Aliens is one of my most favourite world-creating dreamlike movies🥰. The Xenomorph Queen is an absolute divine🤩, I think of her as my spiritual 🫂guardian. Like when Bruce Wayne became Batman as terror itself. To me, only deep connections to all living things with compassion and love. 🖤❤💙💚🧡💛💜
I see so many comments from those, who like me, saw movies like this in cinema. Those comments express the visceral excitement of a group experience. I own a huge collection of movies but watch reaction videos instead because part of the excitement is seeing other people experience these movies for the first time, which adds an element that is otherwise absent.
This is one of the best sequels ever made along with Terminator 2 and obviously Empire Strikes Back. It is a really interesting one as well becasue it shifts from horror to action, keeps everything the first movie laid down and expand upon it. This is how you do a follow up movie, respect the source material, keep the established lore, continue the arc of the characters so they feel consistent. It's a near perfect action movie one of the best ever made. I will never stop loving it, thoroughly enjoy every single rewatch. To add a bit of comparison with more recent movies...this is how you write good characters. From the very beginning their "role" in the team was established. Hicks was the quiet observant guy, Hudson was the loudmouth smartass 5 seconds after he woke up, Drake and Vasquez were the badass heavy gunners , they were clearly loved and respected by their peers probably in part because if things go south they will be laying down the heavy fire for the team to suppress the enemy and cover them. The actor who played Apone ( the team Seargant with the cigar ) was a Vietnam veteran so his mannerism, the way he talked was very natural and on point. They had really good banter from the beginning, their commentary on stuff was funny and organic, instantly giving us the feeling that their bond wa forged in combat and theuy have seen some stuf together. Nothing ever felt forced. Vasquez was a badass from the very beginning the very definition of a strong female character but nobody for a moment questioned it or asked why, we jsut accepted it. Nobody hates strong women in movies but give us a good character that feels natural and the fact that she is a female is not her only character trait. Also, there is no need to dumb every male around her down to the bare minimum until they're nothing more than babbling idiots...She stood out for being competent, steadfast and really good at what she was doing. Great characte played perfectly by Jenette Goldstein. Ripley's arc is phenomenal, another great example of good writing. Clearly she is the lead here and she changes from and observer to an assaulter lol. But even though she is a total badass by the end she still remained very feminine, playing the role of a mother for Newt. Really good stuff. By my count, she made only 3 mistakes in the movie. 1. She should've never let that gun go, especially if you are planning to sleep in the same room the facehuggers are kept 2. She called both elevators 3. Why would you not bring more magazines for that gun? Hicks didnt taught her how to reloed for nothin' Great and genuine reaction guys, this is an outstanding movie and a great sequel to an already amazing movie.
First, I'm glad you showed the directors cut. Second, the chick who had the machine gun was a body builder in real life AND the seargent was an ex Green Baret.
I'm glad you saw the Director's cut. The theatrical version cut the whole thing about Ripley's daughter and some other parts that just help round out the story a bit. This version helps reinforce Ripley and Newt's connection.
Two things: 1. I think you play videogames, am I right? You should definitely play Alien: Isolation. It's awesome. It takes place between Alien and Aliens and you play as Amanda Ripley. Ripley's daughter, that is. 2. The scenes where we see Ripley carrying Newt, in the nest, all tve way to the moment they board the ship, Sigourney actually carries a kind of dummy/doll so that she can move around without having to put the girl actress on the floor, constantly because of her weight. :-)
I’ve always fancied Alien Isolation but I’ll be honest as much as I love gaming I really struggle with REAL horror games! I really do fancy it though but the fear is real! 😂 Would be pretty great to see what ripley’s daughter has been up to though! I NEVER noticed it was a doll!😂
One thing that’s always got me about this movie is the acid blood on Hicks’ armour in the elevator, didn’t the acid blood produce SO2 and SO3 gases in the elevator that’s deadly and would’ve eaten out the lungs of Ripley and Hicks?
The Latino character "Vazquez" was played by a Brit. She changed her accent, put in dark contacts, dyed her red hair and wore body makeup. She also plays John Connor's stepmom in Terminator 2. She's unrecognizable.
It's great that you watched the Director's Cut. With Cameron, it's always the better version because the additional runtime is always important in his films. At the end, as they were leaving, the queen got caught on one leg of the landing gear, so they brought her with them. And I have to say, you are great as reactors, it's fun to watch you. Your reactions are natural, it's entertaining.
@Reactsandgames It was awesome. And neither of my grandmothers would have been caught dead watching an "Alien" movie. "The Sound of Music", on the other hand...
I'm just happy that there are only two Alien films in the franchise. Alien and Aliens. Nothing more. Same with Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. ;)
@@ReactsandgamesAlien is Horror, Aliens is Action, Alien 3 is a strange thriller. It does have its moments, certainly -- but without going into spoilers, Alien 3 does away with pretty much anything the first two movies have established and what I and most likely you love about them so much. Proceed with caution... if at all. I rewatch 1 & 2 regularly every year or every other year. Haven't revisited the sequels in decades.
No spoilers, but there are three actors in "Aliens" who were in "The Terminator" as both movies are directed by James Cameron. Two are fairly easy to spot but one is tricky because it is a great, well-known actor but in a cameo. See if you can get three out of three!!
Lance Henriksen, Michael Biehn, & Bill Paxton were all in The Terminator and Aliens. Aliens and Terminator 2- Jenette Goldstein, she was Vasquez in Aliens and John Conner's foster mum in T2 (also the Irish mum in Titanic btw) But is there really someone in all 3?
Thank you so much, brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Belated get well soon to Steph, although I'm sure you are by now If you guys liked Lance Henriksen (android Bishop) and happened to like the X-Files, please know there was a spin-off X-Files series by the same creator called Millennium. It was like the X-Files except X-files was 15 certificate, whereas Millennium was 18 cerfificate. It did get a little cheesy near the end of it's 3 season run, but Lance is such a great actor and most of us fans just cannot help but see 'Bishop' in most of his roles lol He was also in Terminator 1 and has been in the background or sideground of many great movies! Anyway great reactions, love how you guys pick up not just the action and plot but the softer side of things, plus the eye contact to each other is great, a real togetherness watching movies. Enjoyed this, Cheers guys!
Really appreciate that thank you! Means a lot. T1 and T2 are on the list for Steph to see which is going to be great! And I agree, Lance is a fantastic actor!
I love how the queen is always looking at the girl, snarling. The queen remembers seems to be aware or believes she's Ripley's child, and is trying to kill her because ripley killed her children, it's like the queen says, you killed my children, now I'm gonna kill yours, it was actually personal
1:58 [16 weeks] eh yes and no. 3:42 Ah good the extended director's cut, good choice. 2:45 [16 weeks] mostly no. 3:48 none good. 5:05 yes yes we must find that your reckless, and we did no wrong so we can cover everything up. 5:53 60-70 x an avg of 4 = 240/280 people. 7:33 Yeah your right, I won't be going in with the troops, because I'm going to be right here, as in not there. Thanks for asking though. buh-bye. roll credits. 29:13 Deleted gun scene. All the scenes with the sentry guns were deleted from the theatrical version. then put back in for the director's cut. 33:16 there's a Deleted scene that didn't make it into any of the releases where Bishop gets to a small junction room and encounters an alien, It ignores Bishop because hes a robot and thus "not real". 38:15 No one ever said they weren't intelligent. Hive minded maybe, and cunning. 45:05 She wanted to know what was laying the eggs,... Wish granted. 50:03 Watch how strong this alien queen is, When it hits that massive blast door it causes the door to stop for a moment. 53:17 Well sort of yes, but all that is gone now. and it's not like you age. so whenever you get home you can start your life over and now Ripley gets to do so with a child again. All thanks to St. Burke. Time for Alien 3. (then trust me stop there)
Hi. So, as much as we like both Alien and Aliens, they're like comparing apples and oranges. The first was cerebral while this was very action oriented. The more i watch them the more aware I am of the sound effects used to stimulate the senses. Anyway, well done my friends. You two do an awesome job reacting to films. Stef, drink water and orange juice. Fluids are good to flush it out. And, any over-the-counter medication that directly addresses your symptoms. But, I am not a doctor and am not giving doctors advice. Best wishes guys. I enjoyed that a lot. Cheers! 🎉
Thank you for watching with us and I totally agree, they are very different movies! Really appreciate the kind words regarding Steph. She’s still poorly unfortunately but she is on fluids and tablets and hopefully is on the mend😀
thank you so much for watching this! this is such an amazing film. just like Alien, it is timeless, perfectly done, a masterpiece! and.... i saw thi sin the theatre when it came out - we were repeating sooooo many lines for weeks. okay, years! in fact, if someone says "its the only way to be sure" i cannot help but think of Ripley! I also enjoy how everyone thinks Hudson is so annoying - but by the end we all love him - and i think the character's development is because of Ripley's perfect leadership. And Burke.... look up the trivia about that actor Paul Reiser, and what his mother thought of the film!
Thanks for watching! Someone commented about Burkes mother😂 that’s brilliant! lol some great one liners in this and it must have been epic in the cinemas in 1986!
Liam and Steph, I subscribed to your channel after I watched you for the first time reacting to "Alien". I didn't expect your reaction video for "The Thing" to be even better. And your reaction for this movie, "Aliens" was just as good. The way you both immerse yourself in the movie is great, and you're so genuine in your reactions. See, that's the issue with the third installment. Though inferior, it is not "bad" by any means, but the cheap suckerpunch you receive within minutes its enough to fuel the hate towards that movie still even today.

One of two people to be killed by an alien, a terminator and a predator!
R.I.P. Bill Paxton. I'll always remember Hudson.
I know this may come across corny, but you two really seem like genuinely cool and nice people. Keep it up (and these very entertaining reactions)!
Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment! We really appreciate it! ☺️
that shot of the xeno coming out of the water to grab Newt is an iconic shot forever
So Iconic! 😱
fun fact: many of these actors are also in The Terminator movies: Hicks, Hudson, Bishop & Vasquez just to name a few.
Cameron’s repertory company
Also Vasquez is in Titanic as an Irish mother with her 2 children!!
Bill Paxton (Hudson) and Michael Biehn (Hicks) also found themselves on opposite sides of the law in Tombstone.
Yeah...good actors
And Drake was in the Shawshank Redemption
So happy you chose to watch the directors cut.
Often, a theater will run a classic movie series with "Alien" & "Aliens" as a double-feature. To all movie fans, be sure to jump at the chance. Both movies are incredible on the big screen.
Watching them back to back is also just a pretty great time 👍🏻
I'm glad you guys watched the director's cut.
Thank you for watching! ☺️
No wayy!!! We might have to find that and watch! We really hated that guy! Haha! Thank you so much for your support! ☺️
Oh man, a reaction viewing the proper special edition/directors cut? Win!
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
Thank you so much for watching along with us! ☺️❤️
Even rats can cut the power, accidentally, chewing through wires or something. Don't worry Hudson, these aliens aren't smart like people.
Wise Choice with the Extended Edition 🫡
Fun Fact: Xenomorph encounter math is NOT a 1:1 ratio of Eggs/Facehuggers to Hosts/Drones.
Those damn robots come in alphabetical order.
Ash (Alien)
Bishop (here)
Call (a sequel that never happened, stat)
David (Prometheus)
And then, Walter, Andy and Rook ruin the order. 😂
@pasteye1671 Well, they weren't all created equal. The first two tower over the rest. They all have their merits, though.
@@moog67 It was an extremely high bar to clear. Like Terminator 2, Empire Strikes Back, The Lord on the Rigns Trilogy... How do you follow that up? They're genre defining movies that we still love literally 4+ decades later.
Ripley is Legend 🙌

Although it's an out and out actioner, the theme is motherhood. Ripley loses and gains a "daughter" and the Queen is protecting and then avenging her children. Great movie. Great reaction. More please.
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
That was good, thank you. I haven't heard that song in quite a while. It's from Mahogany Rush's 4th album, "Mahogany Rush IV".
Thank you for watching! ☺️
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
She was also in Cameron's Titanic, brief appearance though.
Appreciate you watching with us thank you! And thank you for the kind words!
I think the late, great Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by a Terminator, a Predator and a Xenomorph.
@@gyjdsss I agree
@ThrakazogZ I had no idea, thank you.
Some one mentioned this!😂 how amazing is that! 😂
Thanks for watching with us!
Yeah she got me with that one as well. I never would have made that connection I’m not smart enough😂😂
My top 3 sequels.... Aliens T2 and Ep5 TESB Great reaction guys
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️❤️
That’s so cool! 😎
Comparing Alien to Aliens is like comparing Resident Evil 2 to Resident Evil 4. They are both masterpieces, but both hit different.
Totally agree! ☺️❤️
Love you, guys. Stay genuine.
Thank you so much we will always stay true to ourselves! ❤️☺️
It’s such a good movie! ☺️
This movie influenced everything: Halo, Gears, WH40k, every military and sci-fi movie that came afterwards, Michael bay’s entire career.. Great reaction!
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
You two were fun to watch. You offered a nice amount of commentary. Some other channels' reaction videos have way too much chatter.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! ☺️
Thank you so much for watching with us! ☺️❤️
40:00 We were all devastated when they got Hudson :( I always imagined him escaping capture somehow. Wishing that Ripley could have found him whilst searching for Newt, then they all could have escaped together.
We were so sad about him! 😢
They didn't keep their bullets, they were giving up a component that let's their heavy weapon to fire. Think of it as a firing pin for a gun.
Alien is still my favourite as Aliens is more of an action film but still good in it's own right
I saw Aliens before Alien. I remember my mum said she watched Alien many years before the sequel and she loved that (we had similar tastes). I TOTALLY love Aliens and I still think it is the BEST of all the franchise to this day.
I can’t imagine watching the 2nd before the first! Must have been a little confusing!
I just realized watching your viewing of it, the aliens probably wouldn't have attacked again so quickly had Burke not set the facehuggers up to get Ripley and Newt. Playing Alien: Isolation, the big ones do not like having the face huggers flamed or killed.
I like your reacation from this movie, great!
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️❤️
One of the best Sci-fi Action Horror Thriller Films ever made!

13:00 she was in TITANIC. She was the woman with kids and telling them they will be next after the first class passengers were on the boats, and the little, girl smiled and shook her head.
So glad you watched the directors cut. It is longer but well worth it with the extra scenes.
We really enjoyed it! ☺️
*"Face Hugger's"* (spider aliens) galore in that one Liam 🤣
I met the sleeze ball bad guy Burke aka *PAUL REISER* in the early 1990's in a sandwhich deli in Liverpool of all places.
ANYTHING that resembles a BIG SPIDER is never gonna sit well with me 🤣
Paul Reiser was making a film which I believe stars Julie Walters. Its called STRANGE RELATIONS in the USA and MY BEAUTIFUL SON in the UK. I've yet to see it though.
oh no, you missed the iconic "Game over, man."
That is awesome! ☺️
So when Ripley is on the elevator and the announcement is made that there are 15 minutes till detonation, that sequence was edited in real time so 15 minutes does actually go by.
That’s so awesome!! ☺️
I really enjoy you two. You're awesome and seem like good good people. Don't ever change. Keep on reacting!

Alien - Horror/Action
Aliens - Action/Horror
Both great films.

Now you have to do the third one
Lance Henrikson (Bishop)
"I didn't even cut a hole in [his finger] Bill Paxton (Hudson), and he was acting like I stabbed him with an ice pick! It was pretty funny actually. ... I felt bad about it ... but not really." Beyond providing a memorable moment, the knife trick scene acts as important character set-up early in Aliens.
One of my favorite movies of all times (and, as in the first movie, the aliens make no you laugh when you see then, they terrify you!).
It’s such a great movie! We really enjoyed it! ☺️
Aliens is one of the few movies I've ever watched that left me traumatized when it was over.
As for your question in the first movie regarding the sequels, here's a bit of information:
- Alien
- Aliens (sequel to Alien, often considered just as good/better as the original)
- Alien 3 (sequel to Aliens, not so positively perceived, but it does a good job in wrapping up the trilogy)
- Alien: Ressurrection (sequel to Alien 3, but more of a fanfiction movie than an alien movie. Still entertaining, but it feels like a different kind of movie than the first three)
- Prometheus (prequel to Alien, delving more into the lore of the alien species)
- Covenant (sequel to Prometheus)
- Romulus (sequel to Covenant)
The spider-things have been called "Facehuggers" by the way. They never call them that in the movies, but the fanbase does.
Romulus is a sequel to ALIEN. It’s less than 20 years after. It’s after ALIEN and before ALIENS. Ripley is in the movie. The shuttle is on the space station. You can see it in 2 scenes.
Thank you for the info! ☺️
@@lustrazor44 How can Ripley be in a movie based 20 years after Alien when she's been floating around in space for 57 years when they find her in Aliens?

I see so many comments from those, who like me, saw movies like this in cinema. Those comments express the visceral excitement of a group experience. I own a huge collection of movies but watch reaction videos instead because part of the excitement is seeing other people experience these movies for the first time, which adds an element that is otherwise absent.
Don't forget the added impact of an enormous screen and theatre sound systems. They count for something as well.

Brilliant reaction to this absolute classic 😊😊
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
1. She should've never let that gun go, especially if you are planning to sleep in the same room the facehuggers are kept
2. She called both elevators
3. Why would you not bring more magazines for that gun? Hicks didnt taught her how to reloed for nothin'
Great and genuine reaction guys, this is an outstanding movie and a great sequel to an already amazing movie.
Thank you for your comment and for watching! ☺️❤️
I agree, colony scene apart: it's useless, totally outside the "movie flow" and it ruins the tension of the arrival on the planet
For me, your reaction to "Aliens" is the introduction to your channel. I greatly enjoyed it and its predecessor in their theatrical releases.
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching! ☺️
Anytime! Keep up the great work! 💯
Thanks again! ☺️
The film is top level stuff, I love the part "Hudson shoot it out" and hicks dives through the window it's just fucking bad ass
My favourite film of the franchise
We loved it! 😊
Two things:
Would be pretty great to see what ripley’s daughter has been up to though!
Wow!! 😮
She's an American jew with roots in Morocco and Brazil 😂 soz but I had to correct it
It's great that you watched the Director's Cut.
Really appreciate that thank you!
Third favorite movie of all time. Our grandma took us to see it in the theater in 1986. RIP.,
Great pick! I bet it was awesome to watch in the cinema
@Reactsandgames It was awesome. And neither of my grandmothers would have been caught dead watching an "Alien" movie. "The Sound of Music", on the other hand...
I'm just happy that there are only two Alien films in the franchise. Alien and Aliens. Nothing more. Same with Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. ;)
So many comments saying the same thing! Aliens 3 must be pretty bad! 😬
See if you can get three out of three!!
more if you count Terminator 2
@@hyzenthlay7151 Great point!
Belated get well soon to Steph, although I'm sure you are by now
If you guys liked Lance Henriksen (android Bishop) and happened to like the X-Files, please know there was a spin-off X-Files series by the same creator called Millennium. It was like the X-Files except X-files was 15 certificate, whereas Millennium was 18 cerfificate. It did get a little cheesy near the end of it's 3 season run, but Lance is such a great actor and most of us fans just cannot help but see 'Bishop' in most of his roles lol
He was also in Terminator 1 and has been in the background or sideground of many great movies!
I didn’t think of it like that! Great point!
@@Reactsandgames The final battle was "Mom Vs. Mom".
Did you say Cornish tea? I grew up 3 miles from Malwgan Porth! Pasty and a pint will get 'er right boi!
Haha yes!! We live in Cornwall! Steph is Cornish! We both used to work in Mawgan Porth! ☺️
As your channel gets bigger and bigger, remember what made it happen - you're really good at this !
Liam, you said you liked "Aliens" because it was a great action movie. It's an exhausting film to watch !
Let me repeat my recommendation for
WORLD WAR Z ! It's a very tense and exciting action movie about a zombie pandemic.
Imagine this : what would be the worst place to be trapped with zombies ?
Hint: its a form of public transportation.
Thanks,
Scott
Hey Scott, Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment! We really appreciate it! ☺️
World war Z is on the list! Sounds right up our street! ☺️
I am happy to have found two reactors who enjoy movies, I subscribed.
There 2 more with Ripley in the series, you will enjoy them, both, no matter what the haters say
Thank you so much for your support! ☺️
a movie that never gets old! ❤👍and Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton are one of the few who had the "honor" of being "killed" by the alien, the predator, and the terminator! lucky people😁!
