Void dancers are close to easy mode on this map but scouts and other APL 2 teams really have to plan out their turns carefully to navigate the terrain--especially on this layout where all the objectives are in the middle area of the board which leaves basically 0 easy objectives to grab. For example, the scout was able to reach the objective in the center with a move+dash but wasn't able to actually secure it. On the other hand, if the sergeant had moved first and given him an APL, he would have been able to secure that objective TP1. Likewise if you had used those reconaissance scout dashes to dash your flank guys forward, they would have had an APL to secure the side objectives and if you drop the -1 APL on the clown who ended up doing the move+dash+secure, he wouldn't have been able to do so. So, there was potential for a 3-2 primary lead TP1 (though failing the first jump test would have ruined that, 2-2 would have still been in the cards). In this matchup as well, i think there was a missed opportunity to start the missile launcher on engage behind the middle platform. For all the rules they do ignore, clowns can't ignore obscuring and a climbing rope would have let him be safe through tp1, then last activation dash up to the gantry (with his climbing rope and a 7mm overhang) and shoot a frag missile into the three clowns behind the barricade.
I've played a number of battles with scouts so far, also struggling to figure them out. My take: Against harlies Trip Alarm is useless (except of ITD, but only maybe). Booby Trap is good area denial, 2 Recons (the max) and then a third recon for your own scouting, +1 cp is fine, and then -1apl on the grenade guy, still might get it off, but now its a 12 inch threat not a 15.
Love you guys and happy to see any kind of Warhammer content on your channel. But so far, no too convinced with Beca-Decima in total. I think I will stick with Open Board and occasionally ItD for now. Also, for the love of God, GW, nerf those friggin' clowns in some way (and give us Freebooterz for Killteam next)
I really feel like Games Workshop is waiting for a rainy day to pull that out, because it's a license to print money. Every single Kill Team player would want it. It might be that they're worried it would be too good, a faster version of kill team that you don't need to find someone, pack terrain and minis, ect in order to play. Althouhg Baldur's Gate 3 is insanely popular and DND is still alive and well, so who knows.
Hello!! I have a small question, at 18:32 the Harlequin is making a charge while in concealed? I dont know if it actually had a Engage Order or i am going crazy, anyway, awesome new video as always!
Also, i commented this on the other video, but how are you dashing onto the platforms in the scouting step. Is it not a 4" climb, plus the horizontal movement?
Pretty sure for this one it’s because scouts are getting around it with climbing gear (reduces it to only a 2 inch climb) and the harlequins have fly so they ignore all of the vertical cost.
If you look at the scout at the top of the map (green dot on top right) he definitely dashes more than 3" even with climbing equipment. 6:05 Last video they did it with a necron immortal. Is this something special to Bheta Decima that I'm missing?
@@MountainsideTabletop thanks for the reply. Hard for me to keep up with these changes. Looks like if you play with crit ops rules this is the case. I wish they would just update the core rules instead of things being hidden in the updates that are definitely a more balanced way to play (also makes learning/teaching the game a little more frustrating)
Man, this killzone seems a little unbalanced in favor of certain teams. Although maybe the players just need to get used to it, hard to say. Would be nice to hear what the designers think about kill teams that are just thriving on this terrain.

I really hope you guys go back to Open or ITD, as Bheta Decima is a total crap show from GW, especially if one of you plays one of the broken teams on it :( But I really love the energy and the style of your batreps. Keep it up, but please, for the love of all, don't play these dreadful Bheta Decima and make GW sort it out. Open and ITD are so much more fun to watch, and your batreps on it are showing that. Love the Scouts and Harlies too, look great!

I would love a Kill Team video game, X-com style. So many different factions and teams could be implemented with their own campaigns

Turn 0 is super important for the Scouts. Jump tests need to be taken out of the game.

Recon dashes are made as if you had fly! (This was a change about a year or so ago I think)
