I'd been debating whether to wrap MY MX-5, but now with these videos of the trickiest bits (front/back bumper), guess what? I'm DOING this! THANKS; Christian!
The amazing thing about this entire video is the fact that he is actually talking to himself the entire time, even cracks a few jokes in there as well. I don’t know that I could talk to myself for that long hahah
I love how human your videos are you are a professional wrap installer and you still admit to mistakes or possible time you might have to fix your screw ups keeps me feeling like when i start it doesnt have to be the end of the world when even someone like yourself can still make mistakes after all this time and skill
Master Class A wrapper! This to me is a highly skilled art and I applaud you for your knowledge and experience. I may try small parts to see if I have any percentage of your valuable talent.
I'm only doing headlights of my 2017 BRZ which has a pretty challenging curve/bend but watching you do the bumper of this was a huge help how to get around curves! Thanks for sharing these vital techniques!
I ended up mixing my knowledge with your tutorial. I’m not the best at bumpers, but I managed to do a BMW F10 M Sport front bumper in two pieces plus inlays. I really appreciate all of your videos!
Its helps alot to have the front end raised up with car Ramps or have it on Jack stands with the front wheels off. Edit: it eliminates the chances of dirt being so close to the floor getting picked up from the static upon removing the backing paper.
Thanks to this video, now I have more confident to wrap my 17legacy,it was it’s front bumper that is holding be back from wrapping the entire car...keep up the good work CK!!!
Thank you! This is the exact vehicle I was going to purchase! Please link your videos to Miata forums. It will definitely help your fan base and exposure to different people.
Hey, Christian! I think it's so cool you give back to the wrapping industry with these informative and free videos! Couple questions: What brand wrap and color is this on the MX-5? Could you have kept the front logo on the bumper and heated the vinyl so it shrunk over the emblem? Thanks!
Should hit up Peter McKinnon and wrap some of his stuff... would be a sweet local collab! Great video, new subscriber and looking forward to future vids!
If you run into where the wheel is too close to the bumper can you just turn the wheel hard either direction to gain yourself some room to pull the vinyl?
Christian, I have that very year and model of MX5. I,m a beginner when it comes to wrapping. I did wrap my car EXCEPT for that front bumper as I thought it looked difficult to do what with the fog light areas ,etc. I was gonna make an attempt at it anyway but came down with cancer and on chemo. Anyhow ,for a beginner what level of difficulty would you say this is?
Love your vids man! Trying to do mine atm with some cheap techwrap. Any chance you could do a infiniti G37 with IPL front bumper? Looked through your vids and didn't find anything.
What about wrapping a front bumper on a Ford ranger year 1993. Got a black bumper but it faded somewhat & a wrap would be cool on it. Is this bumper a one piece or sections job?
Christian......killer wrap on that bumper. Looks like a really nice vinyl to work with. Your poor shirt. :(------ I'll have to see if I can do one for you that has your name done with paint. I used to be killer with an air gun. I'll have to break it out. BTW, where's your puppy ? And WHERE is his doggie bed ? My best, Scott
I love this video. I'll have to redo the front bumper of my MX5; this time I'll use an inlay like you did here. Question: did you wrap the rear buttresses in one piece? The fastback portion of the top.
if I may, for the last shot, around the car.. if you can purchase a gimbal it help to do stabilised shot. It could be juste another upgrade for your video. :)
Great job Christian! I am willing to put some PPF on my MX5 and the front bumper is the one that bothers me the most. What do you think about wet application? I guess dry one is a more professional one, but my skills are far away from yours...
Just did the hood on my Volvo xc70 with 4D carbon fiber. Thanks for the tips and great videos. Tagged you on my Instagram page with a video of the finished product. @04xc70t5
Dude, you have to use knee protection! Now it's all fine but after 10-15 years i'll ask you how is going!? (Don't try to be smart, just talking from my expirience. Trust me, it's for your own health.) Otherwise, really nice video, thank you for the effort.
You are the Bob Ross of wrapping
I'd been debating whether to wrap MY MX-5, but now with these videos of the trickiest bits (front/back bumper), guess what? I'm DOING this! THANKS; Christian!
And even better, you'll only need like 6 feet of material to wrap a MX-5 (j/k "MX-5 wink").
The amazing thing about this entire video is the fact that he is actually talking to himself the entire time, even cracks a few jokes in there as well. I don’t know that I could talk to myself for that long hahah

4 years later and I still make mistakes, it's a part of learning and growing.

No, that's too much "bend" in the material. It would constantly lift
I think this might be helpful when I wrap a Mercerdes SL55. The front bumper has similar curvature and shape.
great video as usual
Class A work
Should hit up Peter McKinnon and wrap some of his stuff... would be a sweet local collab! Great video, new subscriber and looking forward to future vids!
thanks bro time to wrap my car:)
I'm hoping you have a vdo for the roof and buttresses.. please.. 🙂
any videos on how you did that back part of the miata? Great Video once again and thanks for the share!
When you are cutting the opening for the center section, how much are you overlapping the vinyl onto/over the top of the inlay?
Friggin DOPE!!
@30:48 did your watch scuff the vinyl or lift it .? Noticed a blemish but at the end it was gone
wow, the result is beautiful :)
Clean job boss
If you run into where the wheel is too close to the bumper can you just turn the wheel hard either direction to gain yourself some room to pull the vinyl?
quedo hermosos el vehiculo donde puedo perfeccionarme bien en la rotulacion vehicular?
What kind of knife do you use for cutting the inlays and how often do you switch the blade?
On how much did you cut for tension relief on the fog lights if you don’t mind me asking

What's your advice for wrapping the front bumper of a Nissan juke?
Where did you get your "pouch" (utility belt)? I am using my multi-pocket shorts at this time...lol
Love your vids man! Trying to do mine atm with some cheap techwrap. Any chance you could do a infiniti G37 with IPL front bumper? Looked through your vids and didn't find anything.
So Nice!
What about wrapping a front bumper on a Ford ranger year 1993. Got a black bumper but it faded somewhat & a wrap would be cool on it. Is this bumper a one piece or sections job?
Great helpful videos, this one for me in particular - question: would you recommend wrapping the entire bumper while it's off the car?
Highly suggest u not, if u do you'll end up damaging some part of the bumper because of the amount of force that is exerted when stretching.
@@owned2hell great point! thank you.
What is the best brand of material that give me a good and easy finish to use to wrap?
Do a video of that bmw in the back

when do you have to remove a grill? hummer grill need to be removed?
I want to buy that exact same size of wrap
What is the going rate to wrap just a front or rear bumper? 400-500 ish labor?
I love this video. I'll have to redo the front bumper of my MX5; this time I'll use an inlay like you did here.
Question: did you wrap the rear buttresses in one piece? The fastback portion of the top.
No, I used a seam on each side which is barely noticeable if you watch the end of the video I show it close up
Ahh, I didn't catch that. Thank you, sir! You're a gentleman and a scholar.
Oh yeah ! GO RAPTORS! Fourth Qtr. Warriors 103 Raptors 103.
Hey Christian. Another amazing video! Quick question. Did you put an inlay in the rear bumper recessed area on each side?
I have a video on the rear bumper showing how I did the inlays
Hi
For small car Santro xing how many feet vinyl required
if I may, for the last shot, around the car.. if you can purchase a gimbal it help to do stabilised shot. It could be juste another upgrade for your video. :)
I have one, was just too lazy to set it up for a few seconds of the walk around
@@CKWraps ok :) anyway, ypur video are more and more professional. It look better each time . Keep it up
What was the footage of that wrap ???
thanks
Yessssss
awesome
Hey CK i thought you used to use 91% alcohol? why 70% now?
I've only ever mentioned using 70
I think in one video he mentioned buying higher percentage but diluting it down to 70%
hes never said to use 90....like the comment from Heath, it CAN be used but to be diluted as it can pull off more then just grease
Great job Christian! I am willing to put some PPF on my MX5 and the front bumper is the one that bothers me the most.
