@@elpatolucas22 Well during the Williams era they could definitely be considered the best on engines, and combined with incredible technology from Williams and Benetton they took 6 constructors championship wins in a row. This held through in the 1980s but reliability and unfortunate incidents like Prost’s pothole incident in Zaandvort in 83 cost them championships. During the early 2000s they were on par with the best engines from Mercedes and Ferrari, and even in 2019 and 2020 they had the second most powerful *legal* engine behind Mercedes.
@AlcholicAlienRogerAD ; Yes, so while the braking there's of course down shifting; thus the noise from the front facing exhaust. I've been at races this year, and it's truly amazing to hear it in person.
@TheEnemyac130above They blow exhaust gas into the diffuser to provide downforce. the sound is the engine opening and closing throttle to make this gas.
yeah its for downforce, even off throttle it still expels exhaust gas out the rear, usually done so that they can direct the exhaust gas/air flow from the exhaust into the rear from the under the car making more downforce. redbull is now doing this.
hi guys, when does the new engine size regulations take effect? 2012? and is it right enough that they are moving to 1.6L 6cylinder turbo engines? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks
have you ever heard them in real life ? videos on youtube and watching the GP on tv doesn't do justice to the sound. When I went to my first GP I couldn't believe it :S how amazing and loud and I am talking about the v8. The v10 must have been even louder. I think people that keep saying v8 sound sucks blablabla, never gone to a GP, belive you me, they would not be saying that if they did.
Renault makes the wickedest soundest engines in racing, power-plant history. Don't tell the Americans!
If only Renault could return to their former peak moment.
Yeah. For me, Renault 2001-2006 > Renault 2007-2013 >>>>>>>>>> Renault 2014-2024.
Renault siempre fue menos potente en motores, lo que lo salvaba era que lo montaban en buenos chasis con buena aerodinámica.

@@elpatolucas221993, 1995-1997 they had the most powerful engine but you're right that they were mostly bolted to a very good car
here after renault ends their f1 engine project after 2025.
In person, while braking it sounds like machine gun fire. Amazing!
This was recommended to me so I watched. I was not disappointed.
Best sound of 2011 for me. Those shots on throttle lift-of's are gorgeous!

Those downshifts are hella aggressive!
it's the "blown diffusor" that generates that sound.
listen to some grandstand videos from it. You'll faint😅
@TheEnemyac130above They blow exhaust gas into the diffuser to provide downforce. the sound is the engine opening and closing throttle to make this gas.
It sounds so sharp as they ease back into the throttle
that v8 its praying for gas

Never knew F1 cars could sound like an AK-47
such a lovely V8 sound
This even sounds better then the R24, 25 and 26 TBH!
Formula 1 was peak until 2014
this is the best sound so far.... only V10's can be at this stage
Coolest sound and coolest livery on the grid imo
the best engine sound in this season

Now it’s gonna be all electric soon 🤣
i love the sound of this car...
I really hope Codemasters does this sound justice in F1 2011.
But Codies being Codies, probably not :\
They didn’t
Codies being codies applies 13 years later
13 years ago is crazy
Codies suck
0:53 from that moment, Art of defence.
This car sounds lethal!
Kids on the grid couldn't even handle a 20 laps tyres nowadays
0:26 best moment

@garthmercer
Every time a F1 car decelerates, it kills a hippy.
Did anyone else notice the tyre degredation in turn 8?

Your definition of 'shit' must be very different to mine.
better sounds than codemasters 2011!
even after 12 Years!
look at the front left tyre from 0:44 to 0:51
Dude wtf? Is it real time wear or just the load being put on the tyres
It's on the right tho. Makes sense.@@MojaneSekhutsoanyane
The load*

@goldendude1994

I prefer the v12's and the v10's
sounds amazing until you watch a vid of a v10 f1 car...
The only problem is: You dont know whether the engine works fine or has its problems xD
Blown Diffuser
This sound amazin', FUCK FIA-.-
Rip tires. It's insane how awful the early pirellis were.
@ferrarimaniac2011 perhaps it's because it's the only legal engine since v10's...I hate v8's... and even more being limited to 18k revs
