The act of Abhinandan was declared as an "Act of state". If Pakistan did anything to him, it would have been considered as assault against India. Thats a death threat for Pakistan.
Wasn't the entire air raid an assault against India? Why were you waiting for Abhinandan to be killed to retaliate? If Pakistan wanted it would never have saved him from that mob. India likes to talk of war and then the very next day wanted to de escalate. I'll be honest I thought India was going to start something but it actually ended it with nothing more than a few jumlas. Pakistans calculation of the action was very accurate for some reason. They knew India wasn't going to attack. When news of Indian missile deployment came the Pakistani side also responded by saying they will attack with 3 times the number of missiles if India did so. Don't mean to fluster you just talking about what happend. It was better for Pakistan to return him in an honourable way. To maintain the honour of soldiers.
