- Here's a look at our spring activities as we prepare the fields for the upcoming corn season here in the Far North. See our old equipment in action, and remember, it doesn't have to be fancy to be fully functional!

WOW!! A four row planter and it still works. Duh that is because they are simple. Not everyone needs a 60 row corn planter. Yes, I saw one of those.
A 60 row planter?
@@geoffreymorris9853 That was a joke.
Reckon you could do some in-cab of the tractor content?
Just the tractor sound in real time, nothing fancy.
Older iron just sounds much better than the modern stuff, soo it'd be great to listen to the 5010 and 5020s
I certainly will have to. Although of all our tractors, the 7020 and the wheel loader are my favourite to listen to. The 7020’s turbo and low growl from the engine are a lovely combination and the loader is re-powered with a 6V53 Detroit that you can easily hear for three miles on a slightly breezy day.
@@thatoneskfarmer7961 Can't wait!
Would you be interested in a set of std. main and rod bearings for a 5010
Very ironic that you should inquire that - that 5010 just got off its break-in oil from a complete motor job last year. And the problem came from a spun main bearing between cylinders 4 and 5. So long story short, not interested at this time because we just put in a new set, and I’ll be very unhappy if I am interested in the next decade.
Dont blame ya there, long story short mine ended up needing 10 overs.
Is a 4 row corn planter the most a JD 5020 can pull?
I know that with newer equipment “cole the cornstar” pulls a 16 and 24 row planter.
I enjoyed seeing the aerial view and how straight your rows are without auto steering!!!
I hope your now getting rain
Thanks!
It is definitely not the most a 5020 can pull. Our next smallest tractor is a 2010 at 46hp, and that’s just a little too small for the planter. But the 5020 just toys with that planter like a cat plays with a mouse. It’s almost a comical mismatch. The tractor could easily pull eight rows.
And the aerial view would be a lot more embarrassing without the ridge markers on the planter. They make all the difference!
Last time I watched a "cornstar" video he was organizing his 1/2 inch wrenches
