Mary (waitress who was interviewed) still works there. Shes been there for almost 50 years... I live across the street. Her no nonsense attitude and the classic diner food is my favorite hangover cure.
I see the old Bus Station across the street. Its gone now along with all the cool old bars. My friend Jake the Bartender work at The G&M Bar across from Mickeys. Great guy he was and told me many stories of St.Pauls past.
I used to spend way too much time downtown as a kid. I been at mickeys tons of times over the last 50 years. Downtown was my playground during the mid 1970s to early 80s as a kid. The loop we all called it and I'm glad I was a part of it. Thanks for upload and bringing back my great memories. Peace !
I just are there today because I always thought it looked awesome in the Mighty Ducks movie which is the movie that got me into hockey... And I live in South Carolina! :)
St. Paul is a 8 hour drive from where I am and is considered a "getaway" from here, so the next time I go there I will be visiting this diner...Mary...I wonder where she is now...she is cute!!
