It was an honor to have the chance to restore such a rare and special runabout built by Chris Craft. It was a 2-year journey to make sure we built this boat back to factory correct as possible. They only made 19 of these special 16-foot race boats and now only 7 are known to exist today.

Hi Mike, ... Diane and I watched in amazement first hand and in-person, over the past couple of years from both the Maritime Classics shop and the annual "Boats on the Boardwalk', in Traverse City, MI, ACBS Water Wonderland Chapter show each August, the beautiful and stunning step by step complete rebuild and total restoration of "Ruby" the 1941 Chris Craft 16' hydroplane... Thanks for sharing this absolutely wonderful time-lapsed video. Truly "Maritime Classics" Chris Craft history in the making -- Congratulations to you and your fabulous MC crew!!!
The best of Chris Craft World, step hull, barrel back, and triple carburator K engine.
Fantastic Restoration.

Hi Mike, just enjoying this wonderful "before and after" Ruby complete and incredible restoration video on a chilly December 2024 evening with Christmas just a few days from now. Diane and I have been smiling a lot and thinking with delight about "Loon Magic" and "Ruby" winter slumbering together in the Green Home garage this season! Happy Holidays to the Green family and all the Maritime Classics crew. Spring 2025 can't come soon enough 😎
Well done Mike!
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video my family owns an original ditchburn and I'm very proud of it I'm no millionaire however my late grandmother left me enough funds to keep it operational until I ran out of money I call it dancing queen after Abba
That is awesome!
A masterpiece! Beautyful work, nice Video. Allways watching ✨👍🏻🏁 greets, from germany 🙂
Thank you very much!
A 16' with a KBL, that thing must haul...
Absolutely beautiful
All that work, including the video - and not one piece of video of this beauty in motion? Ball breakers!
Sorry, it was just finished and went to the show. Testing and breaking in the new engine now. Stay tuned.
Amazing workmanship Mike! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 fantastic job
I’m actually building the Dumas model of this boat right now. Besides how gorgeous your work is, it’s been a big help with getting the details correct. Very impressed with how true to the original the model is. Might be as close as I come to owning a classic Chris Craft. Enjoy!
Me too.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS.
Darn i need to get started on my '50 CC Riviera.
yes
Amazing work! Beautiful boat! Include action video of the ride.
We will this spring when we water test it and put some hours on the engine.
First class...

What is best US company to build custom wood chris craft cabin cruisers?
To build or restore?
Build. Duplicate of 66'10" C. Craft Constellation either all wood or fiber glass variant hull. Looking fr Co. whose niche this is, not a mega boat builder who will just take it on. Thnks Bill
@@billkramer2994 I had to think about this one and came up with nothing. To do it right is would need to be someone with skills in building large boats and knowlage in Chris Craft to get it just right. Also there would be huge differance between fiberglass construction and wood construction. Van Dam comes to mind but they may not build a replica but come up with there design that would fit your needs. It would also take a team to pull it off with marine architects and electrical disigners. Not saying it could not be done but the project would take 3-5 years and it would be over budget for sure.
My choice would be a 1965 60' Huckins for a boat like the Chris Craft but faster.
@@MikeGreenStudioWorksI grew up in Mich and that 67' CC Constellation is my one and only love boat project. Don't know if there are Co.s who wld build this cabin cruiser using the CC specs or as close to it as poss.
Co in Maine said they cld do it but their f/glass variant hull wld be made in Taiwan, then Maine Co. wld take the hull and finish it out. Take 2 yrs and $2.7 mil approx.
I'd send you a $1000 ref fee if you hooked me up w a Co I contracted with to do the build.
Also looking fr the 19 ft CC 1939 4 seater, all mahog runabout. Either done by restoration or to build from new.
Thnks fr reply. Bill
