Ahh, you're killing me! Thats the exact drain I'm putting in, and you didn't show how to get it aligned with the tile nice and flush. That's my single biggest fear of tackling one of these projects myself!
I don't know I have watched a lot of the videos how to put in showers and all the ones I have done have never leaked. Also, how can the Kerdi Membrane be tightened especially in a shower of that size when it is floating like that and don't you think it will leak in the seem because it was joined with liquid membrane and could it crack in that spot?
The perimeter of the Kerdi is anchored at the top of the blocking and that's all it needs, the 300 lb of mortar will keep the rest of it in place and tightens up everything. The overlap is used with thinset as per instructed but I don't feel that thinset is waterproof and that's why I overlap it with a liquid topical membrane ..basically a layer of rubber and rubber does not degrade. But besides all of that the mortar will never see any moisture because I waterproof the surface of the motar bed.

I’m sorry but that’s all wrong mixing systems ,wrong drain also in all your video’s you say water will not get behind the tile blah blah blah well sorry to say water gets behind your tile because grout leaks water . So not using dam corners on pan liners mixing systems you are bound to have problems . All my opinion
I mix material all the time when I feel is appropriate, ultimately I'm responsible for my own work and responsible for my own warranty. Companies who advocate for proprietary material it's not my thing, sorry about that. As to the drain I'm not sure what you mean by that, I use the drain that I wanted to use. And yes a small amount of water will get in grout and will evaporate, more comfortable with that than the entire mortar bed wet constantly. After 24 years without any problems, it's doubtful I'll have any in the future, but opinion noted ✅️ 😉

Wow so Google knows how to get into my UA-cam channel even though I disabled ads...that sucks 🤦🏻 But yeah the price that I charged even included the Travel and hotel stay for 6 days so it was still a little on the low side

The tile up against the drain are cut individually, it is not a fast process but doable, take time 👌🏻

Kerdi membrane is not meant to be used as a shower pan liner.
Right... and I use it for THAT purpose a few times a year for 20 years...keeps water out nicely 👌🏻 😀
