Thanks for your thoughts on this beautiful lens. I have the 85 1.2 and still decided to buy the 135mm 1.8! I ordered a little late until I saw some reviews and unfortunately it is backordered here in the USA. Also, you are so talented and those shots in the snow are out of this world, totally awesome work! Cheers from San Francisco!
First, love your channel. You're #2 for camera equipment reviews in my book (slightly behind Jared, but not by much) and your in-depth review comparisons are better than his. I'm shocked you have so few subscribers, but that's because UA-cam "Heating" algorithms are total bs. As far as the lens: Really hard to be interested or excited in a 135mm/1.8 if you own a 200mm f/2 or 105mm 1.4. I'm sure the Sony and Canon are both top notch lenses, but I don't think producing an f/1.8 at 135mm is really that difficult. I wish they had managed to make it an f/1.4.
Fantastic and thorough review! I have the RF 85 1.2 and just picked up this RF 135 1.8 as well, and I love them both! Will be interesting to see which one I grab more in the coming months. Looking forward to more of your reviews! FYI I paid the equivalent of $2365 USD in Australia ($3500 AUD) but i'm sure if I waited 6 months it would come down closer to $3000
The sigma 105mm F1.4 is very good, and very so close to RF135mm. Base on my test previously, my rough guess is 135mm will be similar sharpness but with better CA control. That said should you get the 135mm? I am more inclined to say no unless you want to downsize. Its just too close and similar without a really huge significant difference.
@@ZPProductions probably not better CA control once the Sigma is stopped down to f/1.8. At f/1.8 the Sigma 105mm 1.4 bokeh circles are COMPLETELY circular edge to edge too. Something I love about that lens for nighttime shots.
Based on initial testing and viewing at around 300%, the RF85mm F1.2 does edge out the RF135mm F1.8. Though AF wise the 135mm is better. Guess you do get what you paid haha. The RF85 is almost 1k sgd more here
Yup. When it was first out it was 3.4K. I believe with the fall of yen and then some adjustment in pricing, today retail is around 2.1-2.6k if it’s proper SG set.
Your rant about this lens is worthless, how can you talk about autofocus and image quality without mentioning the camera body you put this lens on for the review?! WTF?!
Thanks for the honest review.

Which one you picked up more often at the end of the day? Since I am also considering to add the 135 to my 85 1.2
Nice picture what camera do you use?
Mainly the R3
my sigma 105 art and 135 mm sigma on my R3 are the best I ever used. better then my fuji gf 45-100.
not worth paying more for canon
worth or not really depends on individual. there's some goodness in the native canon that some may value significantly higher then other
How it compare to sigma art 105mm f1.4
I already own that lense and should I need to purchase this lense.

How does the bokeh smoothness compare to the sigma 135?
Should be similar. I personally don’t remember both as some super bokeh machine
rf85mm f1.2 vs rf135mm f1.8 sharpness??
Most reviewers say,
rf85mm f1.2 is a sharper lens than rf135mm f1.8 lens.
He's talking.

thanks!!! Sharpness rank rf85mm f1.2L >rf135mm f1.8L>art40mm f1.4=fe135gm>fe50mm f1.2gm
Sound about right from what I feel . But it’s really nitpicking and only for people who view pics at 300% hahha
$3400??? I got it for below sgd2000 a couple months ago, locally in Singapore, Mscolor.

Unfortunately not as good as Nikon Plena, it falls short in every measure to Nikon’s Plena Canon should have kept the pace with Nikon.
Well it’s newer and cost way more. If the plena isn’t better, there will be issues
