Oh cool, thanks for checking out my videos! I am hoping to sneak more of the Rose etudes into my videos in 2022. Good luck to your students on their auditions!
My fiancé is a percussionist and that’s his practice marimba! It was handmade by a friend of his. Pretty cool, huh?? We think it works well in the front room… some people in our neighborhood have a baby grand piano in their living room, but we have a 5-octave marimba! 🙃
congrats to this great opportunity at home. Marimba is one of the coolest instruments at all - of course except the clarinet ... ;-). It really lets you FEEL the sound by the moving sound waves. I'm sure you will post a video soon with marimba and clarinet ...!
Hi Cally! I play clarinet and not this Friday but the Friday after that, so the 3 of December I have a recording due for the Rose Etude #26 Allegro Furioso: Measures 1-20 with no repeat. Now, I’ve been practicing this for a while, but I keep making the same mistakes (specifically the descending parts and keeping the high notes going smoothly). Even though I’ve been practicing it, it still doesn’t sound performance ready, despite it being due really soon. Im also struggling with playing it all connected, like I get sections learned but I can’t put it all together. Is there any way you could help me out because I really want to get it learned and sounding strong, especially before the 3rd.
Wonderful. Great tips, and timely, I’m helping my students with Rose for some auditions right now.

Hi Cally. What's the story on the xylophone (??) filling the room behind you?!
