    Hi
I am Pritesh and i upload vlogs on my channel about travelling and exploring new places and bringing the best out of life.
This Vlog is about Krishna Janmasthami 2023 which was celebrated at Balaji Temple silvassa.
Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami, is a Hindu festival celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna, who is considered one of the most significant deities in Hinduism. The festival typically falls on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapada, which usually corresponds to August or September in the Gregorian calendar.
Here are some key aspects of Janmashtami:
Birth of Lord Krishna: Janmashtami commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is believed to be the eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. According to Hindu mythology, Krishna was born in the city of Mathura in northern India.
Fasting and Devotion: Devotees observe fasts on this day, abstaining from food and drink until midnight when Lord Krishna is believed to have been born. They spend the day in prayer, singing devotional songs, and reading from the Bhagavad Gita and other religious texts.
Midnight Celebrations: The most significant moment of Janmashtami is at midnight when Lord Krishna is said to have been born. Temples and homes are decorated with flowers and lights. Devotees break their fasts at midnight, and the birth of Krishna is celebrated with great enthusiasm, including the singing of bhajans (devotional songs) and dancing.
Rasa Lila: In some regions, traditional dance dramas known as Rasa Lila are performed to depict the divine love story between Krishna and Radha. These performances are a significant part of the Janmashtami celebrations.
Dahi Handi: In the state of Maharashtra, a popular ritual called "Dahi Handi" takes place. It involves forming human pyramids to reach and break a pot filled with curd or butter, which is suspended at a height. This event is inspired by Lord Krishna's love for butter and his mischievous habit of stealing it from pots.
Devotional Offerings: Devotees prepare a variety of special dishes, sweets, and savories to offer to Lord Krishna. Some of the popular offerings include makhan (butter), poha (flattened rice), and sweets like laddoos and pedas.
Temples and Processions: Temples dedicated to Lord Krishna are beautifully decorated for Janmashtami. Devotees visit these temples to offer prayers and seek blessings. Processions featuring idols of Krishna and Radha are also organized in many places.
Janmashtami is not only a religious festival but also a cultural and social event celebrated with great fervor in India and by Hindu communities around the world. It is a time for devotees to express their love and devotion to Lord Krishna and to immerse themselves in the stories and teachings associated with him.
